Usually I play a game a while before I make a mod but this game was an exception for me. So now that my mod is done it's time to play!
My first question is what does the information on the unit icons mean? For example, in this picture what does the 'II' mean? And the three down triangles? The red '3' and the orange '2'? There's also appears to be a small green square and a small blue square. Are the more squares missing between?

umm.. there is a manual.

3 is strength, 2 is Action points.

The little boxes tell you if there are any action points left, whether you can attack and something else. Those are the famous blinking lights from TOW.
The boxes are not in the manual. The use of those little boxes have been obsoleted by those big circles you see and the information unit panel.
The information on those boxes work but IMO they are too small to use, and why look at them when there is a big circle on the map that tells you the same thing.

I suppose they are useful by looking at them from a strategic point of view as you don't have to click on each unit but, you really can not see them and when you zoom out.

Just plan your moves at the start and go from up to down or left to right. Repeat the same sequence of moves for each turn. Soon you will know what has moved and what hasn't.

Thanks! I have a bad habit of reading the manuals after I learn the game. [:'(]
