frank1970 -> (12/6/2000 3:59:00 PM)

I tried to help my paras in a air assault: I lay arty fire on the landing zones. The result was my paras jumped and landed only to be killed by my own artillery.

Harry -> (12/6/2000 9:24:00 PM)

Buy a lot of artillery.....but why I donīt use them?

panda124c -> (12/7/2000 12:41:00 AM)

Forgetting to buy the barges for that river crossing. Had to do it all with inf.

robot -> (12/7/2000 9:31:00 PM)

Paras attacking before main has loc. enemy and everyone on the board rushes to that vic hex and annilalates to the last man. Smoke i always smoke when i fight keep 2 packs here along side of me doesnt seem to help my men tho. Stupid forward observers doesnt know tanks are faster then men. Obbsessed with those crews trying to get away and 2 squads are hiding right next to my tanks lighting the fuses on charges. Need some one to tell the leaders that they can use mortors they are theres not the commanders. ------------------ Robots wear armor for skin.Grunts wear skin for armor.

Kluckenbill -> (12/8/2000 12:51:00 AM)

In campaigns, all too often I buy my initial core forces without giving adequate thought to what I eventually want to "grow" into. I'm currently playing "Utah to the Rhine" and my core is too small and too tank-heavy. ------------------ Target, Cease Fire !

GrinningDwarf -> (12/8/2000 1:26:00 AM)

A newbie mistake I still make is.....hey! I still am a newbie! (I don't care what rank they give me on the forum!) As long as you can still say "I didn't know that", you're newbie. When you find yourself more frequently saying "I forgot about that", you're a veteran! hhsohn -> (12/8/2000 2:02:00 AM)

Thinking I see his boys, but he doesn't see mine so I think I'll wait until he's little closer, only to see the next turn that my unit's no longer with me or badly cut up.

molset -> (12/9/2000 12:14:00 AM)

Biggest mistakes! Knowing by hard experience that I will be ambushed by doing exactly that, doing it anyway out of lack of resolute, patience, whatever.., and afterwards cursing Wild Bill for placing the AT bunker where I just knew it would be. The result KA.....bOOOOOOO....MMMMMM! And forgetting to save before all this carnage. Do not let me even begin with the mines and Soviet SMG squads: Ra ta ta ta ta ....... Fell for the fatherland... etc. etc. Regards Molset "Jakki er ekki frakki nema sidur se"

Recon_slith -> (12/9/2000 12:17:00 PM)

I still forget to cancel artillery fire on positions I just took. Friendly fire is a contradiction in terms. ------------------ Wait for Death. There's a choice? Recon

Pack Rat -> (3/13/2001 11:51:00 AM)

I will use smoke, I will remember to use smoke, I will buy things that have smoke. Things that go bump in the night :) Hummm, it's not bumping trying again.

Randy Stead -> (3/14/2001 1:30:00 AM)

Using all of a tank's available movement to get to the top of a hill and have none left to back down from the enemy fire that greets me there. Placing AT guns but forgetting to check what they can see. Hey Hans, the grass is too tall in front, we can only see three hexes away! Moving every available tank instead of using overwatch tactics. Buying all that nice arty but forgetting to buy forward-observers. Placing 88s on a hilltop which can see all the way to the enemy objectives and then having them all blown away by enemy 40mm AA guns on turn one. :eek:

skukko -> (3/14/2001 2:19:00 AM)

Forget to buy any arty, mortars this time, and FO...Quite frustrating to waite them as reinforcements when enemy infantry plays with Tigers... mosh

RockinHarry -> (3/14/2001 2:44:00 AM)

All of the above and forgetting Iīm always playing with "limited AMMO" on. (of course) Ah....now we have nice soft targets to bomb....Huh?...no Ammo Left??? Offboard Arty knows no Ammo trucks... :( ____________ RockinHarry

troopie -> (3/14/2001 6:25:00 AM)

Using armoured cars as if they were tanks. "Hey, we did it in the SADF all the time." "Ja, but the terrs didn't have tanks, stupid. Here the enemy has tanks." Conversation with myself. troopie

Greg McCarty -> (3/14/2001 8:22:00 AM)

Not taking time for effective recon. The words of an old Elvis Presley song continue to echo in my mind: "Fools rush in; where wise men never go..." :o

Major Ed -> (3/14/2001 8:49:00 AM)

Thinking I've figured out where Wild Bill puts mines. Forgetting how loud the mine .wav file is. At 1 o'clock in the morning it wakes everyone up. Forgetting that artillery supresses several hexes, particularly when I call it in "danger close". Forgetting that half tracks and light tanks still want to cut through building, instead of going around them.

murx -> (3/14/2001 1:51:00 PM)

Deploy units Campaign defense, ah, there is a good position to get the SU with pants down ... Start battle Preplotted arty, uh, forgot that the SU uses masses of it and focuses on the victory areas with it !!!! => never place 88mm AT/AA at hill tops near victory points !!!!!! (never until next time at least :) ) murx

FrankyVas -> (3/15/2001 2:04:00 AM)

Where are the carriers for the 88's??? There's a mine field in that hex. Let's move the best tank I have and see if it can get through cuz I forgot to buy engineers. Patience and prudence is for the weak! CHARGE!!!! Paratropers, jumping right in the middle of the enemies tank farm. No more paratropers (happens too ofen, should know better by now).

B52g -> (3/15/2001 3:20:00 PM)

Thinking that I am "massing" my forces for an attack when all I am really doing is making it convienient for the enemy arty to kill all my men in one turn.

ROFLMAO oh yeah, what you said. Been there, done that and will do it again. LOL. I can still hear my drill sarge yelling not to group up and the higher ups telling us to space the armor line.

Panzer Capta -> (3/15/2001 7:38:00 PM)

Avoiding confrontation when it is in the best interest of reaching an objective. (just like to "lock n' load" too much)
