Why does a Base Force provides Aviation Support while an Aviation Battalion doesn't ?

Drongo -> (8/5/2002 11:01:01 AM)

I've wondered that myself. Despite its name, an Aviation Battalion's purpose in UV appears to be building airbases rather than supporting a/c on them. It's just another engineer unit as far as I can tell.

denisonh -> Engineer (Aviation) Battalion (8/5/2002 11:50:07 AM)

It does state the unit's name as an Engineer Aviation Battalion. It probably should read a litttle different, but they were intent on making the unit desigantions historical (and I kinda like that).

As a guy who has 15 yrs in Uncle Sam's Army, it should read something like "810th Engineer Battalion (Aviation Construction)".

A Base Force provides aviation support. An Aviation Bn provides general support (for Bases and Ports), but not for aviation. That doesn't seem weird to you ?
