Equendil -> 1.0.6.0 Abandoned ships in opponent's system (7/28/2010 8:59:09 PM)

Abandoned ships (bone yards) in a system that belongs to an empire seem to be "given" to that empire when repaired regardless of which faction did the repair.

No, it depends on if you have ships nearby with a proximity array. Construction ships don't have them by default.

Just have your constructors escorted when they are repairing ships.

Ah right, thanks. What if there's multiple escorts from multiple factions though ?

That I don't know.

It's looking to me like the ship goes to whomever notices it first, and that may not be the ship repairing it.

I've just poached a capital ship from a neighbor's repair-ship.   :) //Torrenal

It definitely goes to whoever sees it first, but it really should go to the construction ship that repaired it in my opinion. I mean conceivably as they're fixing the last couple of systems, they have a crew on-board ready to go.

I'd like to see this fixed.

as far as i can tell you can still destroy an abandon ship an opponent is trying fix up and claim without penalty...caught the AI fixing up the super weapon ship, so rather than risk war and or let him take the ship, i destroyed it out from under him [:D]
