This is a post continuing a thread in the main discussion room about having a handy guide for the different ship abbreviations. I couldn't attached what I use there so here it is.

It's just a pdf with the ship types (divided into Fighting ships / Support+Transport) listed alphabetically by abbreviation, and a last page of keyboard shortcuts. I think if you print it out so 2 pages go on 1 landscape side of A4 it fairly easily becomes a fold-up booklet (A5 size) that can be easily referenced (I use it as a bookmark in the manual and pull it out for quick reference).

Sorry - it doesn't include all the taskforce missions each type can do (p280). Obviously also while I formatted it for use, it is lifted from the manual and (p273 onwards) so no credit to me.

Must be a Mac issue. If I try to down load the attachment, all I get is a downloaded copy of this web page. Any Mac types able to help me out?

Mynok -> RE: Handy ship guide booklet (8/18/2010 2:03:45 AM)

Sorry....my Macbook Pro gives me the appropriate popup window with the downloadable file link in it just fine.

Thanks, that was the information I needed. Normally I right click to down load linked files. For other Mac types with the issue.

1. Left click attachment. This will give a window with the filename.
2. Right click to download linked file.

actually I do not have a problem with it as I have a pc. Save as a pdf file. :-) Great work!

Here's a different version.

Mostly the same except added:
1. Popup LCU guide (I'm sure I'll get used to it soon)
2. An example Allied turn planner (starts in the middle and spirals down and out)
3. The altitudes for dive bombers (which someone mentioned)

Also its a Word file instead of a pdf so you can change it as required

All, of course, ripped from the manual and elsewhere so still no credit to me !

Thanks , its a very handy PDF indeed !

chrisol -> RE: Handy ship guide booklet (8/21/2010 10:59:10 PM)

Just remembered that I did it as a pdf originally as it seems to be easier to print out 2 pages landscape to get the A5 booklet thing.
So here is the 2nd version as a pdf

Thank you.

This is a very useful reference that will, hopefully, keep me from putting the wrong types of ships into a task force!

Feltan
