How long before someone says:

1. "I'm here through Thursday."
2. "Tip your waitresses."
3. "Try the veal. It's excellent."

There, I said it.

(Probably a USA inside joke.)

It may be a USA inside joke, but I don't get it.

Every bad stand-up comedian's final lines as he is hooted off the stage. Done so frequently it's usually just abbreviated "Thanks! I'm here 'til Thursday."

Just returned from a colonoscopy. Not the procedure I mind, just the two days prep!

Now, if I can just post the pictures...

John Lansford -> RE: Is there a doctor in the house? (8/22/2010 2:08:23 PM)

A few weeks ago I had my physical, which of course included the "bend over and lean on the table" procedure.  My doctor didn't like what she discovered, so I was referred to a urologist for more tests.  After a biopsy and some more tests, they diagnosed me with early stage prostate cancer.  I'm scheduled for surgery in October to remove the prostate, and my urologist and everyone else says there shouldn't be any problems with the surgery or my recovery.

Long story short, the tests can save your life, even if they may be uncomfortable or embarrassing.   My cancer was caught in time, and fortunately it's one of the really slow growing ones, but not all prostate cancers are.  Any man over the age of 45 should get tested, or earlier if there's a history of prostate cancer in your family.  Don't be afraid to get tested.

We kid around a lot, but John is absolutely right, of course!

John, best of luck with your procedure and recovery!  [&o]

Kubel -> RE: Is there a doctor in the house? (9/2/2010 1:25:51 AM)

Or a POOPDECK fanboy.

"The name originates from the French word for stern, la poupe, from Latin puppis. Thus the poop deck is technically called a stern deck, which in sailing ships was usually elevated as the roof of the stern or "after" cabin, also known as the "poop cabin". In sailing ships, with the helmsman at the stern, an elevated position was ideal for both navigation and observation of the crew and sails." Wikipedia
