Foraven -> A few requests (1.0.6.0) (8/23/2010 5:12:40 AM)

I really like the game, but there are a few things i would like improved so it's easier and less time consuming to play.

1 : I would like a list of queued construction that will drain my treasury; can't count how many times i have been struggling with this. It's a lot of panel switching to find them all.

2 : A filter in design screen so components that are useless for the current design don't show up; a shorter list make things easier (i sometimes spend minutes searching in the list what i want).

3 : A more complete list of spending and income (that would help me improve my economy and keep my income from draining away).

4 : A lock feature in design so components we don't want auto-updated stay there (originally from torrenal).

5 : A transport command for troops so we can automate things a bit better, i find ferrying troops between colonies a bit complicated and time consuming.

Well, that's it for now. If anyone has more, feel free to add it there.

Unless it already exists and I've missed it:

6 : A shortcut to close the active window, since clicking the X in the top right corner all the time is annoying. Right-mouse button could work well here I feel.

I'd actually favor a 'Payables' row, and a 'Receiveables' row in the screen -- Payables for payments pending (construction queued, possibly unpaid maintenance costs for the year, etc), and Receiveables for the income pending items (goods reserved for sale to other nations, possibly unreceived income from taxes and resort bases).

Going without this when I had the Megatron shields or the Velocity drive was ok... Going without this when I've got the Shaktur Firestorm is going to drive me nuts. //Torrenal

7 : We need more informations about trade deals. I hate not knowing what i'm trading and who i'm pissing off by doing so. Like when they ask for trade sanctions against somebody but i can't review what relation i have with that empire before accepting or refusing the offer. Also when trading mines or colonies, i want to know if it's an important or inconsequential one. I hate doing things blind...

If I remember correctly, if the buttons at the bottom are exposed you can click on them and get some information without closing the original window. Sometimes the the pop up covers the buttons and you can't click anything, but I agree there should be an easy way to access information so you can make an informed decision.

I'll try that next time.

Works well with trade deals.  Doesn't work with the 'Should we send a fleet/spy/etc/etc/etc' options that popup, they block the buttons.  You can click the more-info button but sometimes that 'more info' is no more detailed than the message.  "Gosh, you want to send one of my fleets to attack some mining station.  Where is the fleet, and where is that mining staiton, because if it's on a semi-hostile front I need it to stay, and if it's  having to cross the galaxy to blow up one mining station, forget it..." //Torrenal

There may be a way around this, and I have not played for a little while, but... I think it is also maybe the same thing mentioned by Foraven.

A trade deal appears for swapping colonies/mines in each other systems. I have the impression that these deals are often good. So they come with this deal, but I can't see all of it.

Give us your gas mining station XYZ, in exchange for our mining station ZYX, large construction yard, powerful super laser, epic fancy torpedoes, better solar panels than you can dream of, extra .......

Kind of fun making decision when you can't even see the whole list. And I am under impression that if you try recreate the deal in the trade window, they won't accept it. I enjoy seeing the numerical values before accepting something [:)], which runs bad with the impression that the AI offer sweet deals when they come up with them themselves.

For the trade offer popup, a link to "show in trade window" would be sweet. For any other popup, allow full navigation of all screens (but maybe only in pause to make sure the window won't linger forever) and even make links in the message to the objects mentioned.

Dang, I want to play this game again, I need to clear a path to my proper computer [8D]
