Toast Master -> Compatibility of Different Versions of UV (8/11/2002 10:08:58 AM)

I would like to begin a PBEM game, but my potential opponent has not upgraded to the 1.20 version. (He doesn't like some of the aspects of that patch and would like to wait for the next patch or even the next next patch.)

While we wait for the future patch, can we begin a game if he has one version and I have another? And once we download the next version, can we resume the already-started game? I would suspect that the latter is possible, but the former is not.

Does anyone have any info regarding these questions?

Both players have to be playing with the same version (from what I remember).

You can apply a patch with an ongoing game (as long as you both do so at the same time).

Hope this helps...

Sounds like you opponent is going to be playing as allies? I am playing as Allies in 5 PBEM games at the moment, all at 1.20, and am quite happy with it. To answer your question.....no, both have to be at the same level of upgrade. Find yourself another opponent.

Thanks for the quick replies folks. I guess we'll just wait for the next patch.
