ORIGINAL: michaelm That may not be the case anymore. Due to the restructuring of how fragment and their parent swap places in 1106x, destroyed units are no longer kept track of by the inactive master unit. This SHOULD mean that as long as all existing subunits are in the hex, they should be able to be recombine. Use the Unit OOB button to see what fragment/subunits are around if the recombine button does not show. WHOA, Timeout! That is a major change if that's true (and I'm sure it is, michaelm would certainly know) I would never post A/B/C units to Islands for fear of them being perm destroyed. NOW, why not? You can re-constitute and re-grow the unit (if you have devices in the pool). Or does the lost unit remain dead and the still active units simply have the ability to combine and essentially form a unit that will never be above 2/3 original strength. Even that is an improvement over not being able to recombine. [:)] However if one could regrow the lost 1/3, that would be something that could be exploited. It would be in the best interest to divide ALL divisions and station them apart from each other. Free reinforcements as units are destroyed- subject to device availability of course..
