Assuming you're not joking, Peking is now known as Beijing.

USSAmerica -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (9/14/2010 3:15:47 AM)

I'm pretty sure Chickenboy was joking, but with him it's always best to be sure.... [;)]

Mynok -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (9/14/2010 3:19:35 AM)

I'm waiting for him to tell us how English bulldogs still exist. [:D]

I love Edward McKay!  "Used books and more..... we feed your head."  [8D]

You've had that one for a while, Scott.  Paperbacks go for $.50 these days at EM.  [:D]

Found that photo online. I have 5 different edition from the US (including the one on the photo which was published in around 1972) and at least one from UK. This title was one I found in a used book box in my home town one day over 30 years ago.

Forgot the Trivia [X(][8|]

The novel introduces Russian agent Valentina Sichikova, who would return in the novel The Weapon of Night.

Peking is also one of those roasted bird recipes you all were talking about this morning.

Are there any decent what if mods for AE yet?

Dunno, I'm still struggling along with trying to make an Arakan scenario, then when I've got the hang of small scenarios and the AI it'll be on to Zipper.

The what-if that I've been thinking about recently had Trenchard dying in 1919, changing things for the Brits a bit. With some background it'd be an RAF that didn't become run by the Bomber Barons, changing several of the shortcomings in the early years, meaning a bigger TacAir focus. More TBs and maritime patrol a/c and more Army co-op squadrons. It'd still be crappy aircraft at the start mind, Lysanders, Blenheims and a few Battles. But tac aircraft would be brought forward a few years in development and strategic ones brought in later.

For the RN couple more cruisers (Exeter class) and the FAA returned to RN control sooner.

At least he picked a plausibly Russian sounding name. Many of his colleagues seem to throw random cononants together and put an A at the end.
