Hi all,

Nope... AFAIK the EU regulators decided that bottled water should not carry sign "Drinking water doesn't counter dehydration"... [8D]

My new favourite word is "zeberpupin".

That is "zeberpupin".

Ah Friday. But not feeling well today. So you know I think I'll cut out a little today and rest.

Hope the Sioux are on television Saturday and Sunday. Games against Bemidji State I believe.
The team is struggling this year.

You all have a great weekend.

The "Sioux"? You mean North Dakota State, doncha? [;)]

Noooooo. Them be the Bison of Moo U. in Fargo.[:-][;)]

Yes, but in EU member states, making false claims in contravention to EU Rules on Food Content and Quality, gets you a jail term. In the UK, that's up to 2 years for claiming water eases dehydration. This conclusion was the result of a three-year investigation by EU Officials, including 21 EU approved "scientists'. A conclusion that prompted David Cameron to remark "This is stupidity writ large."

They imagine they are the cresting wave-front of the future, but they are really just the front edge of yesterdays sewage flowing downhill. L.McM.B.

Schanilec -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (11/21/2011 6:18:03 PM)

Sigh. Well poopers. Accounting contacted our office. I am only allowed 17 hours for the rest of the month.[:(] Which is less than unemployment which I refuse to get. 8 months was enough. I guess I'll be getting in more hours on WitP-AE. It will be one year (30 November 2010) that I started my current game. I think I'm moving along. It is 20 February 1943. And catch up on my reading. It is reading season, to around May or whenever the weather begins to improve. This year it wasn't until the middle of June.
I may have to take a look at a couple of other architect/engineering firms. Or another line of work entirely, which could be tough after 25 years.

USSAmerica -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (11/21/2011 6:37:16 PM)

Good luck finding more work, Schani!

Hope so. I'm to old to play hockey.[:D]

What is it with the fascination of taxes in this thread?

Do you refer to the 'tithe' line that some THREAD regulars festoon their posts with? If so, that is an adherence to 'tithing' a certain percentage of one's forum posts to this subforum thread.

In USS America's case, his ramblings on THE THREAD consist of upwards of 70% of his ramblings on this forum. In my case, I deign to offer fellow THREAD members the gift of my wit and charm about 40% of my posts to the forum on the whole.

Do you mean the tithing, Tree?

If so, it's our way of humorously honoring The One True THREAD!!! by pledging to make 10% of our posts in here. [:D]

Or one could just be efficient and use the Word to make a point instead.

Oh, don't worry. The "Word" has nothing to do with religion.

Off to have fun driving with the best "Anti-theft device" available in the USA! A six speed manual transmission! [:D]
I just read a report that less than 10% of American citizens can drive one. While that seems a little low to me, I can't deny that the last time I lived in DC , a young local tried to "Jack a Porshe" from the young girl driving. Once he realized that he didn't know how to drive it, he abandoned it (to the young girl with more guts than me, she laughed at him!) The police caught him a couple of blocks later when he jumped on a bus.

I truly find it amazing that so few of my countrymen are not interested in one of the few things that can make driving FUN! [:(][&:][X(]

Drive it here. I don't know how to drive a manual transmission either. honest. [:)]

jeffk3510 -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (11/21/2011 10:09:04 PM)

It is rather easy to pick up. A lot of fun to drive.

Workin' late - Tithe. [&o]

Trying to make up hours this week since contractors don't get paid holiday time for Thanksgiving.  [8|]

Seattle and San Francisco are two perfect cities for standards. Especially if your starter goes. I had a Cheif who used to tell of being stationed in San Francisco for 3 years and never bothering to fix his starter. Come to think of it , as a college kid in Portland Maine I went nearly six months without one. You just always need to remmeber to park facing down a steep hill! [:D]

Cities can be a bit of a pain with one. Constant non stop shifting and hanging at red-lights. But you'll certainly be skilled after driving in one for a month! [:D]

It's GREAT FUN! [:D] And you'll never feel so much in tune with your car. I really think it makes me a much better driver, and it's great for deep snow (especially in a front wheel drive car). [:)]

Rear wheel is fun on dirt corners :)

AW1Steve -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (11/21/2011 10:40:40 PM)

You go looking for roads with names like "18 curve road"! [:D]
