Tanaka -> Need help getting WITPAE to run in 2560 X 1440 resolution on IMAC 27 Inch (9/3/2010 6:25:29 AM)

Has anyone accomplished this in Imac Bootcamp for windows? If so how? I cannot get this to work! Only fills up about 2/3 of the screen with black borders. I have tried all the quick start codes!

Anyone else playing with an Imac?

Although the game specifications only state 1024x768 is supported, I (like many others) am able to run at higher resolutions since they added the wide screen support (1920x1080 in my case). The black borders you are seeing just seem to indicate that your display is bigger than what the game can support at the moment.

Personally, I'd recommend simply running the game in windowed mode at 1920x1080 and enjoy having the ability to have tracker running next to it on the same screen! [;)]

I play also on this 27 inch iMac.
Try this commandline in your shortcut for AE, works like a charme :)

"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -cpu2 -multiaudio -dd_sw -f -deepColor -altFont -px2560 -py1440

Thanks for the tip but I can't figure out why this will not work for me! Actually shrinks the game to smaller with black borders on my iMac! When I take out -px2560 -py1440 it goes back to regular size.

I recently got a 2560x1440 and hadn't tried it ... but just tried

-px2560 -py1440

and it works for me ... oh my ... I think that is too MUCH real estate !!!

My, that's some monitor you have there Joe [:)]

It's even more impressive when you compare it to a standard screen (red square). [X(]

I had to shrink the picture as I don't think there are many people who would be able to see it if I hadn't)

So why does it not work for Tanaka? My first question would be does he have a "Display Port" on his system? If not, that might be the issue, I have read about people having problems with 2560x1440 on 27" iMac without a display port. My Alienware system does have a display port and my 27" 2560x1440 monitor is plugged into my display port - and WITP/AE runs fine in 2560x1440 resolution.

I really appreciate your help J! I am fiddling with everything to figure this out! My question would be what is a display port? :-)

I am wondering if it has something to do with the bootcamp drivers on my pc side of my mac?

This is what it looks like when I use the suggested line: "C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -cpu2 -multiaudio -dd_sw -f -deepColor -altFont -px2560 -py1440

what does it look like when you load up a game?

It looks the same whether loading or playing. When I take out the -px2560 -py1440 of the command line it goes back to normal but fills up only about 1/3 of the screen. Whats wierd is other games like empire total war play full screen just fine...

BigJ62 -> RE: Need help getting WITPAE to run in 2560 X 1440 resolution on IMAC 27 Inch (12/27/2010 6:08:31 PM)

copy and paste your command line so I can see it

Get to googling and find out - because this might be the problem!!!

And BTW, the below screen shot is the same as mine ... what should matter is what the map looks like ... so show us that screen shot too!

OH MY GOSH I AM SUCH A MORON! I just realized I never actually loaded a game when I saw the load and menu screens so small I figured the game would look the same way! Well I loaded it and you guys were right the map in game is different and it works!!! Thank you all for helping me with my stupidity!!! [sm=00000734.gif]
