If I want to buy the "physical+download" (because I want the manual) of a Matrix game (FoF in this case) for UK delivery, does the package ship from the USA or from Europe? I have just been stung by Customs for a similar import. I ask here rather than Digital River, because I'd like a response, and one I can believe.

I dont think anyone makes printed manuels anymore, the manuel will likely be on the cd of any physical copy.Thats why I always order digital download with extended lifetime download.

The game will be shipped from the uk.
FoF has a awesome printed 200+ pages manual shipped with the box.

That sounds great! (I know FoF has worthwhile manual.) You sure about the UK shipping, I can ignore all their website stuff about international customs duties being down to me?

JonBrave,

Due to problems at DR's UK warehouse (where we normally ship from), we are currently shipping physical copies from our US warehouse. As a result, I can't guarantee zero customs issues. Needless to say, we are working to resolve this ASAP, but if you order now it will ship from the US.

Regards,

- Erik

I don't think you need to purchase DR's extended download offer. I believe Matrix can get you fixed up if you lose, or cannot find, your installer package that you downloaded.

Isn't that right Erik?

Erik, thank you as ever for your prompt response.

Here is my tale of woe. I just finally received a $47 physical from another US company to UK. Added $13.50 for USPS for the manual. UK customs held it for 2 weeks. Then I had to drive into the main city post office to collect it, in order to pay charges. They charged $7.50 VAT ("sales tax"), plus a further $12 fee for collecting the $7.50.... So for the manual, shipping + taxes + fees came to $33 against $47......

Hence my reluctance now. I'm sure my individual purchase is not worth untold time from Matrix, but it's the principle --- you are very kind to spend the time.

So here's the question (given that DR no longer bother to even reply to my email repsonse to their request for clarification --- I've dealt with them before, and they may be fine for collecting your money but they are rubbish to customers): I shall be in USA 2 weeks today. If I were to order through DR, would you be able to promise that you would deliver the physical to USA for me? The issue is then that DR won't tell me whether, with my UK credit card, I can order for delivery in USA, and if so they won't tell me whether it matters whether I go via UK or US purchase site.

So time is of the essence here if you want your $60 for FOF! Thanks in advance.

Hi Jon,

Yes, if you order it now it will be at the address you are going to in the US within a week or so. I don't believe there is any problem with ordering from the UK store and having it shipped to a US address, but I will make sure of that.

Regards,

- Erik
