supermarina -> use of fragments from destroyed carriers (9/18/2010 10:59:50 PM)

hi friends,
Allied side, mar. '42.
I lost Enterprise and Saratoga in battle and now I have Noumea and the other two undamaged carriers filled with fragments from the destroyed air groups.
From the rules I know that fragments would try to regroup and rejoin the parent carrier.
But their parents are ... sunk for good[sm=sad-1361.gif]
How can I use them? Should I disband and send them to the pool, or can I reuse them on other carriers?
Only one fragment appears to be able to transfer on to the Yorktown (but -strangely- not also on the Lady Lex, even if both the carriers are undamaged and well under the max number of aircraft allowed)
The carriers are currently at Noumea base, not docked.
any suggestion?
thank you!

Disband them, pilots and planes should go into pool. You can rebuild the air units from the destroyed carriers but it will take a year...
Fragments from destroyed CAGS are just that, fragments...

Ok, I'll do so.
It's a sad thing, but having sunk two Japanese carriers (Shokaku and Kaga) in the exchange I still consider myself lucky.
Tnahkyou very much!

You can disband them into existing units instead of the pool if you want.
The squadron receiving them must be of the same plane type, and should be at the same base with the fragment.

yes, it's a good idea.
In fact I have the airgroups on the surviving carriers severely depleted.
I'll send them to Noumea and then will merge the fragments in.
tank you!
