Going through Tracker and came across this:

Pilot A assigned as a F type pilot that is now assigned to a LB. I checked the history of the pilot and see where he was assigned to a fighter group who was at some point culled out and sent to General Reserve. He stays there for a number of turns and then he is assigned to a level bomber group losing about 15 exp.

First question is what did I do wrong? I bring pilots into squadrons manually. The pilot requested was set on Reserve.

Second question is if I move this pilot back to General Reserve and then reassign him back to a fighter squadron, will his experience take a hit again or will he revert to his previous fighter skill?

I suggest you use the 'request veteran' button, and pick up individual pilots manually. I think just asking reserve pilots will bring you highest exp. pilots, no matter what skills they have. Otherwise you might see your best torpedo plane pilots assigned to fighters... [:(]
