OKW, the maps look great. They show the rough positions of buildings in the village so I think that's accurate enough for some mapmaking!

Thank you! :)

Kez -> (8/16/2002 9:46:56 PM)

OOOoooooh!! :D :D Thank you. These are the things I were looking for.

Hope to get at least one scenario ready to public soon.

OKW-73 -> (8/17/2002 4:20:10 AM)

Heheh..happy to help as my brother got veeeery nice private library ;)

Orzel Bialy -> OKW.... (8/18/2002 6:30:56 AM)

look in your email box...I sent over a spur of the moment map.

Perhaps it's too late to put it to use in a scenario...but I thought I'd send you something while I continue my work on other projects. Hope you like it. :)

OKW-73 -> (8/18/2002 8:31:22 PM)

Thanks Orzel...

...but im not making this scenario/campaign ;) Kez and DerC are doing it, i did just find some real maps for them :) But i check it out and possibly post it to my site later, if there is any mispellings i can fix them :)

Kez & DerC...

If you want this map Orzel did send and dont want to wait until i upload it to my site, send me email and ill post it to you ;)

OKW-73 -> (8/18/2002 8:41:08 PM)

Orzel, do you still have map what you did use to make that Suomussalmi map? I would be interested to see it, so can you send it to my email?

Orzel Bialy -> Map of Suomussalmi.... (8/18/2002 8:47:39 PM)

was created with the maps you posted my friend!!! :D

I just stayed up late the night you posted them and put that map together...and then tweaked it yesterday before I sent it out to you.

So, you have everything I used except some smaller maps I have in a couple of my books....and those didn't have as much detail as the color one you posted.

OKW-73 -> (8/18/2002 8:52:12 PM)

oh...ok then :D

Would appreciate it. It would be nice to see what someone else made of it. (read: Someone with a bit more map-making experience than us :D)
Can you post the map right here on the forum? If not you can send it to me, derc0@hotmail.com

Orzel Bialy -> Other Maps of Finland in Progress... (8/18/2002 9:06:42 PM)

I have two other maps in progress that cover Finland as well...

1. Tolvajärvi
2. Kelja

The Kelja map is being created for Redleg to use in a scenario he's worked on before covering the battle there in late December of 39'

The Tolvajärvi map will be released to OKW for his website. Both of these are side jobs I work on when not creating maps for M4 Jess...or to take a break from the Berlin map from time to time. ;)

Let me know what you guys think of the Suomussalmi map...I tried to use a scale that I worked on for Jess's D-day scenario...so as to allow players to cover a large segment of the area. As such, things may not be in perfect position but close enough I think. ;)

OKW-73 -> (8/18/2002 9:11:14 PM)

Ok, did send Orzels map to both of you :)
Others have to wait until i put it on my site ;)

I think its pretty d*mn good map :) Only one thing that does stick to my eye is that you write "Lake Tolvajarvi", i would write it "Lake Tolva" or "Tolva Lake" because "jarvi" part means lake in finnish language, im not sure if my way is 100% right but thats how i feel it ;)

Orzel Bialy -> The Jarvi Question... (8/18/2002 9:38:46 PM)

That is what I thought too...but figured I'd let you correct it for sure.
After a while I stopped putting "lake" in front of labels after I used my Finnish Translator to try and figure out certain words. :D :D
Like I said...feel free to edit them to make them as correct as possible. So much the better. ;)

Kez -> (8/18/2002 10:01:26 PM)

Err... now I'm not sure, but is north located in the right edge of Orzels map?
I remember that Haukiperä is south from Suomussalmi. If it is meant to be looked "from" east to west in y-axel then it's ok...
Anyway, it's great looking map, covering a BIG area of Suomussalmis surroundings.

Orzel Bialy -> Kez...you are correct... (8/18/2002 10:07:26 PM)

to fit in the biggest chunk of land possible I turned the map "on it's side" sort of speak. ;)

So north is to the right...and east is to the bottom.

OKW-73 -> (8/22/2002 12:55:03 PM)

Well, im currently very busy in rl so i dont have time to make promised changes to that map, but after all its 99% correct and one more prove of Orzels amazing map making skills, so ill post it up to my site in weekend as it is :)

OKW-73 -> (8/25/2002 2:20:19 AM)

Orzels great Suomussalmi map is now available on site, enjoy :)
