Anzac -> Someone please help! (12/9/2000 6:33:00 AM)

I'm trying to put a pic on an AAR that I want to post. I've got it in jpg format but I think I'll have to convert it in html. (Is this right?) It's a screen capture from a campaign I'm doing. Does anyone know how to do this? I'll appreciate any help anyone can give me. This is so that people can so see what was happening in the battle. in the header to this page is a link to the FAQ. It is all explained there. Your main problem is that the picture must reside on the web somewhere, it is not enclosed in your message. Basically, you post the picture to a web site (yours, a friend's, whoever's) then create a link in the message to display the picture from that site. ------------------ Robert (Bonzo) Lindsay, Coordinator 28th (North-west) Battalion Headquarters http://dreadnaught.home.icq.com nwbattalion@icqmail.com

Where are you posting it, Anzac? If you know the website owner where it is being posted, you can send the picture separate and then they can make a link to it within their own site. If it is to a newsgroup or private e-mail, that would be a different matter and Bonzo has responded well to that. Yeah thanks WB. I realise now that I need a friend or I'm gonna make my own website (which I'm in the process of doing). Basically I just wanted to show an after battle pic that would give readers of the post an idea of how the battle went. Oh well maybe soon. If only Tankhead or Fabs would let me post it on their site. No doubt they would be too busy to worry about me.

I know what you mean, Anzac. When I walk down the street, women smile at me, men step aside, and children look on adoringly. Last week, I was confronted by a mugger. I looked him dead in the eye and said, "See here you malefactor. I've successfully completed two Wild Bill Wilder campaigns." He didn't have a clue about what I was saying and robbed me anyway. ;-) It is cool being a Veteran, though. Lou -The Veteran

OK vet now go to the thread "Newbie mistakes" and tell everyone how you didn't have any recon out and were without smoke. ------------------ I'm not retreating, I'm attacking in a differant direction!

ANZAC, Get a free website from Geocities or something. Put up an .html file to hold your place. Then you can upload all the pictures you want and create links to them in message boards or elsewhere. Yahoo clubs also offers something called "Briefcases" where you can store pictures and other files and make links to them. ------------------ Billy Yank I don't define "my own" the way you want me to.

Sorry Lou, we have been able to reach all our underworld connections as yet. He will be dealt with harshly! He'll be given a platoon of Stuarts against a company of Tigers... . . . With low morale... . . . And very limited ammo... . . . In the mud... Next time he will know whereof you speak WB ------------------ In Arduis Fidelis Wild Bill Wilder Coordinator, Scenario Design Matrix Games

Thanks BY. I'll give that a go. And Lou you crack me up mate! Or as we say on ICQ - ROFLMAO. And WB I finished the Tulagi campaign last night against a much more agressive AI. The first battle wasn't too bad, the second was murder and the third was a brilliant decisive victory for the Raiders. I'll post a far more comprehensive report as soon as I can get my after battle pics up. I can assure you it will make for a good read. Watchword Freedom next but I'm still not sure whether to make the AI better. It's nice to kick some ass occasionally, hehe. Happy gaming folks. Anzac Just so no one is led astray here; when we say "you need to put the pictures on a website first, then insert the link to the picture in the post" you don't actual have to be a "web site". You just need to put the picture on a computer that is connected to the internet and allows access by anonymous logins. Most Internet service providers (ISP) give each of us a free 5 or 10 MB of disk space with each account. You probably have that right now since you seem to be connected to the internet and posting to this forum. You can put the pictures right there, in your own disk space. Call up your tech support line at your ISP for some more details on FTP'ing files to that disk. Tommy
