Lrfss -> Hull Down /Height Advantage, etc? (10/8/2010 1:49:40 PM)

I was wondering if Height Advantage factors come into play with PC for any type weapons (Armor/Inf./Guns)? And regarding Height I don't mean just as in visibilty or lack thereof, but location of impact/damage? I suppose the reverse could or is true and a disadvantage is possible as well in so far as height.

Regarding Hull Down I mean if your turret or such is just showing at the crest of a hill/in a trench/behind a wall etc, does PC then only potentially check for a upper hull/turret area hit and rules out the lower hull area for both spotting/chance to hit and damage, etc?

And speaking of Height, in multi story structures/buildings/etc, will infantry always be assumed to be in the highest level or can we choose which level? Can roof tops be used as well?

Will there be any Flak guns, SP or otherwise besides the 88 we already have? Can the 88 or any other weapons shoot down aircraft in PC now or future...? Had to ask this one...lol?

Thanks!

Lrfss

Yes, height is taken into account in the game.

You can only hit what you can see.

There are multilevel buildings but PCO chooses where your troops go in the building. Rooftops cannot be used. These kinds of specific details for the infantry are to be addressed in PC4.

No. Flak, in all it's iterations is set to be introduced in PC4. Yes, in the future flak should be fully functional. CAS will be done in detail in PC4.

The locations are horizontal level.

Yes, the qualified hit locations are the upper half of the vehicle. For sighting, I'm not sure if it is a factor.

Usually multi-story structures will have mount points for two squads. The point where the first squad to enter fires from is usually the highest floor of the structure. But that depends on how the model builder built the structure.
No specific roof top locations. The entire squad fires from one spot so the whole squad would have to occupy the roof so would not have overhead protection.

No AA. No shoot downs. Right now I haven't seen all the types of halftracks. There might be an AA version. But at that it would only have a ground attack capability.

Cool, this is all good news for the most part! Would be nice to see the Sdkfz 251/17, and or some of the other 2cm & 3cm Flakpanzer vehicles ... In particular the "Ostwind II"[:D]
