Rhone -> Huge Download (12/10/2000 2:53:00 AM)

I have noticed that alot of the wav files in SPWAW are identical. WAV files are huge. Would it have been possible (or possible later on) to redirect all identical wav files to a singular file? It seems like it could cut out a large portion of the d/l.

(IIRC...) It's the other way 'round - one day each group of sounds should consist of three different, but similar ones which are choosen randomly* ... but seemingly up to now the folks at MatrixGames didn't have the time to do extra sounds. * Have a look at the manual - there should be a "sound file table" somewhere. hope this helps (and is correct) Arralen [This message has been edited by Arralen (edited December 09, 2000).] [This message has been edited by Arralen (edited December 09, 2000).]

Arralen, you are correct, one of the many things that we just didn't get to!! If the other two are deleted, you will get no sound periodically, as it cycles through the 3 files, as it does!! Do not delete any! We also never got all the terrain sounds done, or the encyclopedia txt files, sorry, but as with any volunteer project, these things happen!!;( ------------------ Mike Amos Meine Ehre Heisst Treue

Okay, I think I understand, at least I know they are there for a reason. Thanks and just trying to help!
