Swenslim -> Is it possible to turn off explosions sounds during combat animation ? (11/2/2010 4:01:42 PM)

Hello everyone, i have a question - is it possible to turn off explosions sounds during combat animation ?

Because on my old notebook game begins to slowdown when bombs or art shells or torpedoes hit their targets and explode. I think this is connected with explosion sound during combat animation, because if i rename Sound folder and their are no sounds and music during game it runs smoothly.

There are 2 controls for sound Unit and Background.

You could try setting these to 0.

Unfortunately, that's just the volume control. The sounds will still play in the background, and eat CPU cycles.

The largest sound file in the sound folder (1032.SFX) is only 4.53 MB, and this one is not the explosion sound.

You could try to identify the sound file in question (SFX can be opened with the Media Player if you don't have anything else), and replace it with one of the smallest sound files (9 KB) there, or create a moot soundfile as replacement.

Combat sounds look like they are controlled by the Main Volume control.
Try turning it down to 0 and see if that stops them.
