Hi. What version of MS Access does the Reimer 3.10 edit require? When I double click on the H3RE_3_10 access the runtime starts but pops a window that says:

UNRECOGNIZED DATABASE FORMAT C:\MATRIX GAMES\HARPOON 3 ULTIMATE ADVANCED NAVAL WARFARE\H3RE_3_10.MDB

I've see this before and I'm assuming it's an Access version issue. I believe I have runtime 97 installed on my computer. Do I need to upgrade to 2003 or 2007 runtime? The editor in Ultimate HCE runs fine. Thanks.

I believe it is access 2000 for the 3.10 editor so you'd need to use a newer runtime version or get a full version.

Ok. I upgraded to Runtime 2007. Now I get this good old

"Microsoft Office Access has encountered a problem and needs to close."

The techinal data for the error is attached. Please advise.

Here we see one of the big reasons we stuck with Access 97 for HC, the newer runtimes are a nightmare at times!

Can't offer you much help miller. Make sure you've installed the Office 2007 patches from Microsoft update and hope for a miracle.

Yeah...I guess I'll be hoping for a miracle. Runtime 2007 SP2 is installed (most current version as far as I can tell). Hopefully Matrix will provide assistance as the Reimer editor is almost necessary if you hope to enjoy database editing with ANW. Fortunately the Ultimate Edition includes the 3.6.3 version (before all the hush, hush database encrypting and crap started and it became ANW) and the old original Reimer editor works for it just fine with 2007 or 97 runtimes! I am a perfectionist though and surely hope that someone from Matrix can get me up and running with the 3.10 Reimer and the "Ultimate ANW".

No problems so far with the HCE database editor pre-my upgrade to 2007 runtime or before. It seems to be a gem of a program!

I took the time to hunt down the Runtime 2003 and uninstalled the Runtime 2007. After install on Runtime 2003 all runs well! Appears the HRE 3.10 doesn't like Runtime 97 or 2007.

Where did you find the runtime 2003. The sites I find are trying to sell someting and the download for 2003 runtime is never there. How did you get the MDB file? With access 97 and runtime 2002 all i get id unrecognized file type errors. Thanks
