Just started General's edition Campaign. I'm Hauptmann Vebber crossing the Bug R. When I click on Save Game, nothing happens. If I "Exit Game with autosave" and restart, there is no saved game in the file list.

Let me guess. You either use Vista or Win 7, installed the game on drive c: and didn't turn UAC off?

Nope, it's XP. And the save feature works for scenarios and regular campaigns. It just doesn't work for the mega campaign.

I vaguely remember that you can't save to keep you from reloading and hoping for better results. I could be wrong though. It should autosave at the end of a battle.

It does save, but only on exit, and there is only one save file for the whole campaign. After reflection, I like it. You can escape from a tactical disaster, but only through CTRL/ALT/DELETE. There is no escape from a strategic blunder -- you have to start the campaign over from the first battle.
