Lihnit23 -> combat resolution questions (11/27/2010 9:46:56 AM)

I'm trying to figure how combat works. Thanks to the handy combat log, the SF combat tables, and some number crunching, I've figured out some things. I do need some help, though. How do you determine if a soldier is hit? As far as I can figure, you take the "AFTER ALL MODS: attval" and "AFTER ALL MODS: defval" (found in the combat log) and create die rolls on each based on each value. High roll wins. Eg, A SMG II is counter-attacking a light tank. The SMG II's attval is 193 and the light tank's def val is 4110. So you roll a 193-sided die for the SMG II and a 4110-sided die for the light tank. High roll wins. Is this right? Another question. In the SF detailed description page (the in-game one), in the "Vs. SFtypes" tab, what do those numbers mean (the attack/defend kill chance numbers)? What stats do the numbers modify and how are the modifications done?
