I figured it out. Thanks guys!

Thanks. I can confirm the Japanese player in PBEM has to do all of these changes first and then send the turn on as per norm to the Allied Player. Of course you have to select an old turn prior to installing the patch and changes.

Ramon and I have applied patch and all my subs are A-OK!

Need to reassess this post. Turn after patch was applied a lot of subs had deck gun and AA gun damage. I guess this is fixable damage in port. As it is I can live with it if the damage is fixable in dry dock

cantona2 -> RE: Check your subs (11/30/2010 5:47:04 PM)

Any chance of a hotfix for this sub tubes problem?

Anyone know if it is possible to repair this damage, or do we have to wait for the subs to upgrade ?

Chris21wen -> RE: Check your subs (12/1/2010 3:51:41 PM)

That's really nerfed my AI game, screwed good and proper.   I'm goung to have to back track a good gtwo months.  I'm not a happy bunny.

OK I found one in a zip that only three weeks behind. Still very very annoyed that an Official release has this kind of problem.

Not sure when the new database would come into effect during a game turn, i would assume immediately so I tried the upgrade to the database again, checking the subs immediately atnd they were fine. Ran the turn once and checked again and they were not. I have resorted to not updating the database patch to my three week old game and I recommend nobody does until sorted.

Actually I always understood that it was good practice to NEVER update the database of an on-going game. The feature was added (back in the WitP days IIRC) because so many people complained that they wanted to capture the updates in an on-going game, even if the devs advised against it. With that said I do have to admit that I have always tried to update each time it was an option and that I had to revert each time as well.

Smeulders -> RE: Check your subs (12/1/2010 8:06:42 PM)

Well, only subs seem to be a problem, so they were pretty close to getting it to work this time.

Lecivius -> RE: Check your subs (12/1/2010 8:40:40 PM)

I took a long look at my subs in game last night, this has not reared it's head.  I don't know what I did wrong, but I'm glad I did!

cantona2 -> RE: Check your subs (12/3/2010 5:02:16 PM)

Sub update. Here is a screenie of an ingame Gato class with its tubes messed up

Now one of SS Wahoo, recently arrived at Mare Island. Seems to me that subs that arrive as reinforcements arrive with the correct tube setup and it appears that only the subs already in play suffer from this bug

Smeulders -> RE: Check your subs (12/3/2010 5:57:24 PM)

That's my experience as well, but even if only subs already in game are affected it's still a game-breaker.

cantona2 -> RE: Check your subs (12/3/2010 5:57:55 PM)

PS - Just checked the reinforcement queue, subs that are yet to arrive come with nerfed tubes [:(]

But Wahoo comes in with the correct tube setup, so while they show the wrong one in the queue this seems to fix itself once they actually arrive.

I hope so! Well gutted about the tubes thingy. Brit/Dutch subs aren't affected by nerfed tubes but rather AA and deck gun configurations
