I bought the game from stardock, now I could not register my serial number in matrix's member area!

Not much of a surprise there, is it?

bo -> RE: Storm over the Pacific v1.04 Public Beta (12/3/2010 9:55:05 PM)

Is Razz's Mod Rising Sun also included?

My question also..

cpdeyoung -> RE: Storm over the Pacific v1.04 Public Beta (12/4/2010 12:59:05 AM)

Can a 1.3 saved game be continued with this version?

If so what change needs to be made to allow the load to work?

Chuck

cpdeyoung -> RE: Storm over the Pacific v1.04 Public Beta (12/4/2010 3:57:49 AM)

When I click on Reports_cities from the reports menu I get a CTD.

Last lines of ConsoleOut :

quote:

No, I pre-ordered the game there. Now I didn't even find the game on their site.

rmielech -> RE: Storm over the Pacific v1.04 Public Beta (12/4/2010 10:35:14 PM)

Sure you didn't get it from GamersGate and not Stardock? Either way, you've got an autoupdater in there. As soon as the patch becomes official, it should update it for you. I think you'll find it if you look in your all programs folder.

cpdeyoung -> RE: Storm over the Pacific v1.04 Public Beta (12/4/2010 10:58:07 PM)

It appears that a land unit can only be attacked by air one time per week. I do not remember this as a feature before. Can anyone confirm that this is the expected behavior?

I pre-ordered and bought it from Stardock, then I downloaded it by impluse.
I can wait a bit more time for the official pathc.
Thanks for your assistance.

rmielech -> RE: Storm over the Pacific v1.04 Public Beta (12/5/2010 4:47:34 AM)

That's odd, because I did a search for it on their site and it didn't come up. I had to look in the strategy section to find it. It's there and patched to 1.03 at the moment.

In 1937 China campaign I have encountered this with an Armored unit. Can only attack Armor once.

Still checking.........

cpdeyoung -> RE: Storm over the Pacific v1.04 Public Beta (12/5/2010 1:30:22 PM)

A single air attack per unit seems consistent in all my many tries. I will now wander into the realm of anecdote and speculate that the single attack seems a bit more potent. I find myself using every air attack I can. I have not explored this in any depth.

Moving this to the big thread as you are correct about the change.

While only a single attack on a land unit is allowed, it help the AI tremendously.
The AI would always make several attacks and then it would have to replace their losses.
The AI is programed to replace losses on air as a priority.
The losses in combat is too high when attacking. There is a 90% chance the attacker will loose 1 strength point.
While this change helps the AI manage it's PP's more effectively, it harms the human player by making bombers useless.

Before one could use 1 to 3 bombers and make 2 to 6 attacks to weaken the defender enough to increase the odds on a land attack. Then the land attack would succeed and push the defender back. The attacker would pay heavily for this in PP's to reinforce the bomber losses.

Now a player does not have this choice.

The affectivity of air power needs to be increased a little like in the Rising Sun.
The other alternative is to make air losses as floating, using .5 increments.
While an attack by strength 10 bomber may be shown as 10 after the attack, in actuality it is 9.5, and a player can tell by looking at efficiency. It will be reduced because a loss of .5 in strength.

Gamersgate says goto the official site for patches now?? What's up with that? How do I get the patch?

This is what is says on Gamersgate:

quote:

Links First Wallpapers pack
Patch 1.02
For further patching, use the ingame autopatch function

When I load up the game there is NO INGAME AUTOPATCH FEATURE!!!

It's in your start folder, too. The patch won't update yet, though. I suppose it's not quite ready.

diablo1 -> RE: Storm over the Pacific v1.04 Public Beta (12/8/2010 4:43:01 PM)

Thanks rmielech it was in my star folder but why isn't it on the main page when I load up the game? Seems that would be more user friendly? Stardocks games Galactic Civ 2 and Elemental do it that way.

rmielech -> RE: Storm over the Pacific v1.04 Public Beta (12/8/2010 7:31:01 PM)

Making History 2 will do it for you automatically when you start it just like a Steam game will. Lots of different approaches out there.

jackdone -> RE: Storm over the Pacific v1.04 Public Beta (12/22/2010 7:33:52 PM)

Towards a single air strike, apparently all of my many attempts. I will now walk in the realm of anecdote and speculation that the attack seems a bit 'stronger. I can see all the butter air strike. I have not studied this in depth.

rmielech -> RE: Storm over the Pacific v1.04 Public Beta (1/7/2011 8:04:27 PM)

Any movement on this becoming final? I didn't buy the game through Matrix, but I'm assuming once it gets out of beta it will be available on the autoupdater.

doomtrader -> RE: Storm over the Pacific v1.04 Public Beta (1/26/2011 11:12:41 PM)

We just wrapped patch 1.05, which should deal with all CTDs and be available next week.
As soon as Matrix version will be out we are going to release version for autoupdater.

Any CTD issues found in 1.05 will be fixed trough hotfixes as soon as possible. This will allow you to continue your started games.

Thank you for your patience and continuous support. We will think about something that will reward our delay.

So, stay tuned, wait for official announcement of 1.05 patch and expect next information.
