Kung Karl -> Why no real full screen mode? (12/13/2010 3:43:56 PM)

First, love the game!

Second, how come the game doesn't support true full screen mode? I know you can maximize the window but you still have the bottom and top of the screen used up by windows that way.

A real full screen mode does make the presentation value of the game much greater. Is this possible to ad via a patch?

What do you others think?

I hate that I have to auto hide my taskbar. I wish it was in true full screen.

I added it to the Suggestion forum in the tester area.  No promises it will ever happen but it has been noted.

Even if they could change it so the windowed mode frame stopped at the top of the task bar instead of underneath it, that would be better than having to auto hide the task bar to get access to the game screen. It’s annoying as hell having the task bar constantly pop-up when you’re mousing near the bottom of the screen.

My understanding is that there were technical reasons we did away with full screen mode. I don't think it is a simple thing to add to the game. We also had problems in previous games with people Alt-Tabbing out of full screen mode causing problems with the game. My understanding is that if you have a resolution greater than 1024x768 you should not have to hid the task bar. I realize visually it's less appealing to have the top and bottom windows bars on the screen, but it allowed us to avoid some difficult techincal issues and provide a resizable map window.
