WoodMan has kindly given permission for me to release a version of the Battlestar Galactica mod that includes the Diverse Worlds excellent ship updates for almost all races. If you have been living under a rock and don't know what Diverse Worlds is then please do yourself a favour and check it out here:

Distinct changes to Diverse Worlds because of the ship set limit include:
Atuuk use the Teekan ship set.
Gizurean use the Sluken ship set.
I've kept all Diverse Worlds ship sets as the same numbers for easy modification and integration of any updates to WoodMan's Diverse worlds.

Release 1.1

Battlestar Galactica Distant Worlds ROTS mod 1.1:
BSG Mod

1.1 Changes: Slightly improved graphic for a few of the ships in game to better match the show.
Added racial biases so the mod is a lot more thematically correct. Humans WILL war with the Cylons.
Cylon races are now extra races, all Distant Worlds races are still included and Cylons can be played along side them.

Battlestar Galactica music pack:
BSG Music Pack

Installation:
This mod requires Return of the Shakturi to work.
Extract the .zip file to the Customisation folder in your distant worlds directory.
The music pack is optional and should be extracted to the same directory.
You should then have a Battlestar Galactica folder under the Customisation folder with the contents of the mod.
In game change theme to Battlestar Galactica.


Human - Rethemed humans to the re imagined series.
Cylon - generic Cylon race based on the re imagined series seen in the first 2 seasons.
Guardians - Old toaster models based on the re imagined series as seen in the movie Razor.

Primacy Cylons - The Cylons led by Cavil from later series after the civil war.
Rebel Cylons - The splinter group of cylons from later series.

It is recommended that you slightly play with the theme yourself to include the parts that interest you. It doesn't make sense to have all 3 Cylon race types playing in the same game so you will probably want to edit the theme to suit what types of Cylons you would like to see. Deleting the line for a specific race from both the races.txt and biases.txt should remove them.
I have included an alternative Human race graphic and have used an Eight to represent the Rebel Cylons, if you were to only include the 2 factions from later series you could also swap the picture of Six to represent the Rebels if you preferred.
You can also set the Guardians to not be an expanding race in the races.txt file easily if you wanted but I prefer to keep them as expanding so they are a challenge.

Things to do:
The Guardian base star possibly as the Capital ship.
Possibly change Guardian bases.
Have a more appropriate Cylon Rebel race picture with the 3 rebel models.
Weapon effects.
Sound effects.
Human troop image.
Flag shapes.

This is the first mod I installed for DW and love it!!!! I think DW's hyperspace mechanic is perfect for Battlestar Galactica! Great job!

@WoodMan thanks dude :) Believe me it can make for quite a challenge, stick the Guardians as distant as well for added interest.

@hewwo Hey man, hope you enjoy it. Personally with a bit of playing I use the bits of mods that I enjoy best, I use my BSG mod along side other mods such as Diverse Worlds. Plus I have a couple of other races for diversity such as Na'vi and Space Jockeys from Alien.

Oh they disappeared?

This mod is far from compatible with Distant Worlds Universe though and requires a (Mamoth sized) LOT of work to update it to Universe. Unless you plan to use this for either a Return of the Shakturi version of the game or Legends version linked here: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2966686 this will be of little use to you.
