In addition to not being able to withdraw naval units, you can no longer disband ground units. I have a shot up unit I was going to disband at Bombay with 300,000+ supply and no button. Moving the unit to Dehli next turn to see if I can disband it there. It is a CW unit (from Burma) if that matters.

Isn't LCU disbanding limited to national bases?

CV2 -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta (12/21/2010 3:35:49 PM)

Well by the rules its any base with 100,000 supplies. I believe a patch changed that to 200,000. But as it is a CW unit in India with 300,000+ supplies (look at the 005 save I sent you, the units in Bombay), I would figure that for a valid disband point. Thats why Im going to Delhi next. If I cant disband there, then it truly IS bugged because that would be the "national base" of CW forces.

witpqs -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta (12/21/2010 4:44:52 PM)

I thought it was the national base.

BTW, for India that is Karachi, not Delhi. Delhi is where the command level HQ is located IIRC.

ckammp -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta (12/21/2010 4:53:10 PM)

From Patch 3, code change 89:

"Changed disbands to must be in national home base and can not be permanently restricted then disband is free (no vp cost), in all other situations it is not allowed."

I have player defined upgrades ON, but when I try to change the next aircraft, I keep on getting the aircraft data screen with no change to the newly chosen aircraft. Seems both right and left click were set to the same action.

That's a simple one Pascal. [:D]
Unclick "do not upgrade" button so you can actually change the line, not view the frame.

OK. I see the problem. Previously, I did not have to click on the "upgrade/do not upgrade" switch to change the upgrade aircraft to effect a change. Now I have to. Extra mouse click now [:(]

Before, I could change the aircraft simply by choosing it and leave the frame showing "do not upgrade". I don't necessarily want to upgrade immediately, just change the aircraft it will go to when I do in the future. I usually have everything set to Manual so that no upgrades are done automatically.

The 'upgrade/do not upgrade' button was added in an earlier patch to enable a quick turn on/off switch. IIRC originally, you needed to go into the upgrade screen and press the 'do not upgrade' button there.
So 'depending on your point of view', you either save a click or two, or you need an extra click or two.[:D]

Bongo -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta (12/21/2010 6:48:52 PM)

Having the same problem. Have british ships in Karachi with no disband button.

Page 184 of the rulebook Says Delhi.

witpqs -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta (12/21/2010 9:12:31 PM)

Then it's wrong, because they are all ports where ships can be disbanded from (even if not level 9). For India that's Karachi.

I have definitely been able to disband units in Delhi under patch 5 (1.0.4.1106i), haven't tried with the beta.

witpqs -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta (12/21/2010 11:30:12 PM)

I've never even tried to disband ground units, but as far as the national capital goes, it's always been Karachi. Important for withdrawing ships.

CV2 -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta (12/22/2010 12:48:21 AM)

Well Im guessing its Delhi like the rules say since I cant disband the armor unit I have in Karachi.

Nomad -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta (12/22/2010 12:51:28 AM)

I have disbanded Indian LCUs in Deli. Never tried Karachi.

There is a problem with the button showing that has been identified.

michaelm75au -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta (12/22/2010 9:03:42 AM)

Bases for allied LCU disbanding are:
BASE_AUCKLAND
BASE_DELHI
BASE_SAN_FRANCISCO
BASE_SYDNEY
BASE_VLADIVOSTOK
[and the main base for small map scenarios]

Itdepends -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta (12/22/2010 12:05:41 PM)

Don't LCU's withdraw/disband automatically though once their passed their withdrawal date?

Michael, confirmed that the button DOES appear for ground units. My unit finally reached Delhi and its there under the new patch. So the problem is only in the naval.

michaelm75au -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta (12/22/2010 12:25:38 PM)

Thanks

Itdepends -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta (12/22/2010 12:34:52 PM)

Not using beta patch- but a bug that might be fixed?

When transferring carrier air units to land bases- as either allies or Japan- after the unit transfers you see an air unit information screen for one of your opponents units. E.g. playing as Japan I've just transferred a carrier unit off and ta dah

The controls/radio buttons work as well- I was able to draw an extra pilot into the unit - I didn't try any other buttons as this is part of a current PBEM.

michaelm75au -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta (12/22/2010 1:07:38 PM)

Yes. That should be fixed.
20. Fixed empty (or enemy) group showing after group transfer from ship

Itdepends -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta (12/22/2010 1:31:47 PM)

Sorry Michael- I should have read the release notes.

Daniel

LCUs that are scheduled for withdraw will withdraw automatically on their withdraw date.
Players are able to also disband LCUs, subject to the following conditions:

1. LCU must be in it's national home base, and
2. LCU must not be permanentely restricted, and
3. LCU must not be scheduled for withdraw

Bongo -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta (12/22/2010 6:27:01 PM)

Thanks, I just wanted to ID the problem. Not complaining. Love the support to this, my favorite game of all time.

A note:
This patch will re-sync weapons on subs when they hit port. It wont go into 'repairs' unless there is other damage.

Ships where the class and ship weapons are not aligned will have the good old '*' next to the class name of the ship display.

Does this mean that the database updates can be applied without major damage to games in progress?

CV2 -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta (12/23/2010 2:47:03 AM)

I havent seen any issues. The last one corrects the sub problem that the prior one caused.

Maybe I missed one. Last thing official I saw, they were recommending not to do the DB update for games in progress. Maybe they can provide an update after the holiday break.

I personally apply the DB changes to my AI games as the code should be able to cope (even with the last lot of sub weapon restructures).

However it really is up to the players (esp PBEM) to decide if the database changes are significant enough to warrant updating the save.

009. Added a destroyed LCU screen and the ability to reform non-Chinese LCUs (at 1% TOE) using PPs

To what base will the reformed units return? For instance if I lose an Indian Brigade in Singapore when it falls, will it attempt to reform in Singapore? Delhi? Aden? Oh, and Merry Christmas everyone.

I believe Aden.

Hello Scott, how are you doing? I suspect you are right, but I was also thinking about the troops in Manila, Hong Kong, DEI etc, basically the ones that are lost at the beginning. How long after they are rebuilt will they appear? and where?

Without checking the code, I think that they show up in the national home base.
[edit - yep, is national base ]
