Lord Malago -> Scenario extension (12/20/2010 6:25:55 PM)

In the instance where I create a new scenario, there appears to no way to load in to it an already saved game.

To be more specific I want to extend the Case Blue Scenario into early January. Having created the Scenario (which was easy) how do I
load an already saved game into it. There is provision for saving it, but I cannot find a way to load an already saved game into it.
What I'm trying to avoid is having to replay another 20 turns, of Russian retreats. At turn 17 I reached the point where I could start
limited Russian counter attacks on Axis allies, and then the scenario ends disappointingly. ( Like a kid who's candy has been stolen !)
So what we need is another button perhaps - load scenario map and details - load saved game.

please advise

I think I understand what you are trying to do here. You want to open your saved game into the editor and then extend the length of the game into a new scenario via the editor and then open up the new game so that you can play it longer?

If so, you should be able to rename the saved game to a scenario file by changing the .sav to a .scn. Go to the editor, open up the new .scn file. Go to the MAIN tab and change the scenario name to something you want to name the new game. The scenario file will conviently already have the start time changed to the end of your saved game. Change the end dates and save. To play it, you should see this new game in the list of scenarios with the others and run as normal. Keep in mind though that there will be none of the Soviet reinforcements that arrive for Operation Uranus so your game will be a complete fantasy.

Also note that I did some more work on 1942 and Op. Blue to make the objectives more attainable for the Axis and should be out with the next update.

Thanks for the reply, however if your going to revise this scenario I think an option to extend the time period would be a good one.

There's a debate on that. We'll see how it turns out.
