AAR: Foxhunt This is an interesting scenario (the announcement of which was nearly overshaddowed by a bout of spam in the PlayersDB announcement thread), that explores a similar sitiation as one of my favourite Red Storm Rising episodes, firing TLAMs from the Baretz sea, then getting out. The mission is to move your sub towards the general launch area, then await Intel that informs you of the precise launch location and time, getting there, firing, and getting out. I played it twice from US side. I cruised towards the three mentioned refpoints, aiming to be near the middle one untill the Nimrod Intel planes showed up. I plotted a Russian group at about 10 nm and during one of my periscope sweeps an Udaloy fired at me and killed me with a rocket boosted torpedo. Second game took about the same route, this time I checked the range of the Udaloys weapons and radar, and I stayed about 20+ nm from the Udaloys and navigated to the coat the coast. The Nimrod came and was circling over Northern Norway, in the vicinity of ta named refpoints that informed me of the launch point and target. I moved to the required launch point, which was only 15nm away and could be reached creeping and fired 12 VLS and 3 tube based Tomahawks from the right refpoint at Murmansk. I saw the A/C pad die so aimed the last 2 missiles at the A/C pad of a different airfield (this died as well). Then moved 50nm north and triggered the vicconds. A nice scen with lots of escorts, and given their radars can detect perisopes on a good day quite a hazardous scen!
