What patch do I need to apply to use this beta 1106i?

1106i would have been the last official released patch. See downloads on this page http://www.matrixgames.com/products/351/details/War.in.the.Pacific.-.Admiral%27s.Edition

1108 is a beta patch available at the beginning of this thread.

BigDuke66 -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta - Build 1108c (build02) (1/11/2011 9:19:00 AM)

So the link from the first post isn't the comprehensive beta patch?
I just see the 1.01.06g dated July 2010 under registered downloads and there isn't anything under members download.

HansBolter -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta - Build 1108c (build02) (1/11/2011 10:55:24 AM)

I'm having trouble with ship withdrawals.

I could swear I saw something in another thread about this being made easier by adding more ports to the list of possible withdrawal locations but I can not find it now.

I had to kamikaze the first Allied ship required to withdraw since the withdrawal button did not appear no matter what port I put the ship in.

The QE is approaching its withdrawal date and the withdrawal button refuses to appear. I have had it in Colombo, Aden and now Karachi and still no button. I may have to kamikaze it as well as I would rather lose 20 victory points once than 20 Political Points per turn forever.

Is this a known issue or should I post a save for examination?

My mistake. We are short circuiting the normal beta process. The link is at the start of this thread.

The button was missing in the first beta, but was fixed in the later beta (build 2)

Omat

The 1108 beta is at start of this thread as we are bypassing normal beta process for these holidays.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll check to make sure I have the latest one.

Sorry if this has been addressed.

Is the 5th British Infantry Division supposed to be in an unchangeable restricted HQ (India Command (R)) in Mombasa? As such it is unmoveable... [&:]

Or did I miss a database patch that changed this? (I've patched the game I've started a couple times with the official patches and now the beta patches....).

Pascal_slith -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta - Build 1108c (build02) (1/11/2011 5:39:25 PM)

In current game with beta patch. A graphic problem. See photo.

Interesting.
Does it stay there or goes away on the next turn?

Yes. Disappeared. Possibly just a fluke?

SuluSea -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta - Build 1108c (build02) (1/12/2011 5:37:12 PM)

I'm seeing this in my game from time to time but it goes away with the next turn.

I'm sure it could be others but I was thinking it could have been two things-

Temporary seperation of an attacked unit from the mass due to air bombardment.

A unit or unit that moved into the hex to join the mass of troops the prior turn.

I believe in my case it was a unit that moved in from elsewhere to join the units already there.

PaxMondo -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta - Build 1108c (build02) (1/13/2011 3:13:15 PM)

Not sure if this has been caught already .... seems I read it somewhere, but couldn't find it ...

On the Aircraft and Engine display under info menu, the engine names are one char too long and won't sort correctly by engine type.  The Mit 32 and 33 will group together when sorted ...

Also on the Aircraft replacement pool, the Mits engines are one char too long.

THanks.

I've just run this update but the game is still telling me its v1.06i?

Make sure you using the correct shortcut to start; the beta patch has a separate one.

Trying to make the beta more flexible so it allows you to keep playing older games on current release, while playing around with beta as some players prefer until it becomes 'official' as they say.

Pascal_slith -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta - Build 1108c (build02) (1/16/2011 3:34:29 AM)

I'm getting some other strange reaction. I click on a base, then open the window for a squadron, change something like add aircraft or get new pilots through the "request veteran" button, then close the squadron window I fall on the window with all the land-based aircraft for the whole game, not just the base. Never happened before...

And I'm getting the target-switching bug elsewhere now. Kathrine to Dili (my base also) ground attack on Japanese units; units switched to bombing a Japanese base (Ambon).

michaelm75au -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta - Build 1108c (build02) (1/16/2011 3:48:56 AM)

The complexity of possible combinations of 'window on top of window' is stretching the game engine.

For example the group screen can be called from about 6 different list screens, so I have to try to keep a marker on who called the group screen.
This is not always successful.

Although, I did find a bug in one of the markers (can remember which but it might have been the base group list) that resulted in 'back' from the group going to the wrong list screen.

[1108d]
Fixed Ground attacks against land units in friendly base hex could default to 'Commander Discretion'

It is one of the fixes in the next build (1108g)

Zeta16 -> RE: Patch 06 - Public Beta - Build 1108c (build02) (1/21/2011 1:06:37 AM)

I have a group of trop bombers that will not fly at all, it seems like weeks. The base is Aukland with an air HQ and good supply. All other groups at the base fly. My Jap opp. invaded NZ so there help would be great. Do I send a save to some to get this figured out.

I don't need to know exactly when, but a rough estimate would be nice.

Examples:

"in a couple of hours" (unrealistic, but nice),
"in a couple of weeks" (more probable),
"in the gamer's lifetime" (I can be patient) or
"in the lifetime of the gamer's grandson" (oh no!)

I have a week-long vacation coming up in three weeks. If it comes out by then, I'll give my first born child to Matrix to show my gratitude.

Best answer yet!

In other words to all those wanting an ETA: it's useless to ask.
