Grouchy -> upgrading AFV's (12/27/2010 9:11:11 PM)

In the GC Iīve noticed some problems getting the new-better equipment to my favorite army units. The air units you can manual upgrade, however this isnīt possible on land.
To test this i set a scenario up with the editor where i fill the pools with the Pz Kpfw III Ausf J armed with the 5cm KwK L-60 and crank the production of it way up.
I take a look at all the panzer division set most of them on a railhead not in contact with the enemy and some of them on refit and let the scenario run.

I would expect that the units set on refit would upgrade to better equipment first, however first panzer (thatīs set on ready) upgrades first.

Is there a way to get the new AFV's to certain units first?

what was the toe % of the units you wanted upgraded? would they fill faster if depleted?

Refitting units should get new equipment earlier according to the manual, but I'm not sure how the formula for that works.

Set them all at around 100% to get the same results.
I'm now a couple of turns further and notice that 10th and 19th panzer refuse to depart from her 38's and 38(E)'s and older PIII versions.....hmmm.
In the mean time 2500+ brandnew Pz Kpfw III Ausf J's armed with the 5cm KwK L-60 are collecting dust in the pool.

So...i'm somewhat confused how upgrading works.

Are you playing 41 campaign? If so new rules came in about armor reaching the front while your units are racing east. Come the fall as supply needs slow down then those replacements should start showing up...

Testruns taking place in December 1941 (introduction 5cm KwK L-60)  to February 1942. To overcome possible problems with supplies and transport i have edited those settings up to like 400%.
