Thales99 -> Sea transport oddities (12/28/2010 11:37:13 AM)

I found the following inconsistencies/bugs concerning sea transport while playing the '43 scenario as Axis player:

- It is stated in the manual that captured ports do not contribute to their respective sea zone pool (14.2.3.1), but this is certainly not the case in my game. Apart from some odd exceptions (see below), all ports seem to contribute. Because of this, the Axis player is able to accumulate transport points (and conduct sea transport) in all sea zones, unlike stated in the manual. I was able to transport Axis troops in the Azov Sea, for example. I'm not sure whether this is only a problem of the later campaigns (because the respective ports are already captured and in possession of the Axis player at the start of the game).

- Several towns/cities are listed as port (having a port facility) but do not display the sea zone in the hex info. These ports are: Stettin, Sortavala, Azov, Taganrog, Mariupol, and Ochakov. It seems that these ports do not contribute to their respective sea zone pools.

- Temryuk port is located at the Azov Sea but displays "Black Sea Zone" in the hex info. It also seems to contribute to the Black Sea zone pool instead of the Azov zone pool. When doing a sea transport from Temryuk, points are correctly deducted from the Azov zone pool, however.

- Kerch port only shows Azov zone in the hex info and seems to only contribute to the Azov zone pool. Black Sea transport is possible, and correctly deducted from the Black Sea zone pool. This is working as intended, I assume. However, Black Sea transport is NOT possible if the pool of the Azov zone is too low for a selected Kerch unit, even if the Black Sea zone pool is sufficient.

Issue reported.

Hmm.. didn't read the manual, but Soviet ports captured by the Axis do contribute, not the other way around.

Looks as a bug. Will fix. Thanks.

I think sharing between 2 sea zone is not possible.

Well, the manual currently states:

"... the Axis player is limited to conducting naval transport only in the Baltic and Black Sea zones."

and

"The port must be of the nationality of the player in order to provide shipping/amphibious points, for example captured Soviet ports do not provide points for the Axis player."
