Hi! I need some specification concerning AC tenders. If I remember well, only float planes were tended in original WitP. Is it the same in AE? In manual, I can read that AV is used to tend float planes but for AVD and AVP, plane type is not specified. I suppose that it is the same but just to be sure....

Yeah, floatplanes only for all AFAIK.

If you look at the aviation support on the base you'll see floatplane support as a +, so 0 + 18 if you got a base with nothing but an AV in it.

OK, thanks a lot for a very quick answer!

How do you get them to work?- do they need to be loaded with supplies like AR/AG's? Disbanded in port? Can you use them on dot bases? Do you need to unload supplies on the dot base? have supplies on the ship?

You can load supplies into them for certain, or have supply in the base hex itself I am almost certain.

The former is useful when you're using a dot hex with no facilities.

Catalinas seem to use almost no supply at all, I've had ~4000 supply AVs tending Catalinas for months on end in some cases with no bother. Hence 'almost certain', having an AV without supply in it is almost unheard of in my game. I load em up before I send em out, and they never really seem to run out.

...loaded with supplies, and then disbanded in port.

I think they'll work if not disbanded but merely present as well. Just look at the base screen, if you see that ' + 18' in the aviation support field, I assume it's working.

On dot bases as well?

I assume the dot has to be your colour ?

Yes to both.
