Ldeathbow -> TF compatibility (1/10/2011 6:47:25 PM)

I have TF 91, an Amphib with CM, LSD, AK and AP class vessels, and TF 123 (also Amphib) with CL, SC, AK and AKL class. I order 123 to merge with 91 and get an "incompatible ship type" error message....How is this possible? If both are Amphibious TF's, then, are they not by definition, composed of compatible ship types?!?

They would be if they were formed in the game, but TFs created in the editor - maybe not. If you are talking Scenario One, I notice an AS in TF 123.

OK - you found the cause (even though I did not give you as much info as I could/should have). Now the $64,000 question.

WHY? Yes, it is Scenario 1, I am playing Japan and TF 123 (Pattani 2nd wave) does have an AS class vessel in it. So why did the designers make an Amphibious TF that violates game rules (ie, has an illegal AS class vessel) and/or why did they make AS class NOT valid in Amphibious TF's if there is historical evidence that such vessels were, if fact, used in Amphibious TF's?

The very existence of this TF in an unmodified scenario creates a conflict - either the TF is wrong (should not be single TF of Amphibious type, but rather 2 TF's - 1 amphibious followed by (or following) a support(?) TF OR the rules that prohibit AS class vessels in Amphibious TF's is wrong.

Could this be a typo? Looking at editor (to make sure I got the right spelling of Pattani), it shows 123 as a transport mission, yet in-game somehow it calls it an amphibious (mission type 05 vs. 15 in editor) - also noticed (just now) two spellings of Patani (Pattani)
