Bridge at Remagen. There are times I throw my DVD in just to hear the music. The opening sequence is amazing.

I like the soundtrack for the Pacific..more than the DVD set actually.

Oh boy, there are so many good ones to choose from. I'm going to go with Jerry Goldsmith's score to "The Blue Max" from 1966. His score helps elevate an okay movie into so much more. Take any of the air fighting scenes as an example.

I hate it when people throw out multiple choices when asked to name their favorite one, so I'll just hope that someone else nominates Elmer Bernstein's score from "The Great Escape". [;)]

Hey if you want add some spice to your selections with a YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mNZhZjtSvE&feature=related

Then we can all hear your favorite.

Seconded, with honerable mention to Basil Polidouris for "The Hunt for Red October" and maybe Jack Horner's "Aliens".

A recurring theme in the "Civil War" mini Series - "The Ashokan farewell"

Obsolete -> RE: Best War Movie Soundtrack? (1/18/2011 11:52:55 AM)

To be honest, the Rambo III soundtrack I felt was quite powerful.

Yes, yes.... I KNOW the movie was not realistic in any way...

Last of the Mohicans

.......is that a war show?.....sound track is good anyway.

sullafelix -> RE: Best War Movie Soundtrack? (1/19/2011 12:36:36 AM)

Last of the Mohicans +1

But again my favorite had war in it but wasn't really just a war movie. Excalibur, had they handed out clubs at the movie before the part where Arthur rides back to battle one more time. we would have gleefully bashed each others skulls in
