I realize this concept is somewhat abstracted in the game, but how exactly does the player get trrops from the UK and America to France?

Are fleets simpy used as escort, or do battleships actually transport troops?

I can't find the procedure in section 14 of the pdf manual.

I answered you on the AgeOD forum: "Be sure the weather is good, then form a stack composed by no more corps than the transport capacity of USA, then click on that stack and select the naval transport movement mode. You'll see the areas selectable as targets of movement highlighted by the pulsating yellow. Drag and drop the stack on one of these ports in France (commonly Bordeaux, I tested it several times and it works). I hope this will help you." [;)]

I've managed to drag and drop a stack across the Channel, but though it shows a green line to France, it hasn't moved for months!

I have seen some bad Channel weather icons, but how long can it last?

Post here the save (zipped, both .sav & .map files). I will debug your save.

I have dial-up, so I doubt my email will be able to handle these files.
