MacCready -> 1.2 patch corrupt download (9/9/2002 9:06:44 AM)

Hi,

I just got the bright idea to fire up the latest version of SUDG,so I installed 1.0 from the cd and then downloaded the 1.2 patch from matrix.
Well, the patch doesn't work,I get the infamous 'illegal operation' error.

Anybody know where I might get a clean version of the patch 1.2 ?thanks.

1.1 doesn't work either, so It must be me.

Once upon a time the 1.1 patch did work on my system

Hi

The patches can be found here at http://www.matrixgames.com/insidemg/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=7

Download and install each patch in order and make sure the patch is installed into the proper game directory. There was a changed made from the release of the game and the patch that the directory name is different. Please make sure it matches your install directory when you install the patch.

Hello again,

Both patches don't work at all, they open with winzip but don't execute.

I get the infamous illegal operation error everytime,so I never get to direct the patch to a directory.

I tried extracting the patch to a new directory but that doesn't work either, still get the illegal operation and progam will be closed error...

I just tested the files and they did work fine for me......what type of connection do you have to the Internet. The files sound like they are not complete.

I have a fast DSL connection.I've had the 1.1 patch on my HD since it came out,it used to function, now it doesn't.

I've also tried downloading them several times but each time I get the illegal operation error...

Hi

It clearly sounds like a machine issue. I would also make sure you had the latest Direct X version. Since it working here and you had v1.1 working I would have to say its on your end. What OS do you have.

Hi,

I'm using win98se.

It wouldn't surprize me if it was on my end,but I've been patching a few other games this afternnon and none of them resulted in the illegal operation error?

It's wierd with computers how some things work sometimes and other things work all the time, and some things don't work at all.

Overall I'm still getting good performance from most of my software so I'm loathed to reformat and start over so the few things I'm having trouble with might work.
I have the latest direct X,8.1a or something, microsoft hasn't made a new one in a while.
Guess I'll just put SUDG back on that shelf to get dusty...
