No, not really. You have not seen how their Romanian Cavalry Brigades smash my Rifle Divisions. It is the combination of superunits with "imaginative" use of them which gives the game an aura of irreality.

I think he genuinely might not understand that default = historical. Maybe he set the Axis settings higher because he was trying to give himself the 'historical' advantages they had, as he perceives them?

Yes, I think so. In my email answer I have pointed out to him that at the beginning German Divisions already have moral and experience ratings superior to those of the Soviet Divisions
