Hey Vettim, hope you don't mind me stealing the nice idea. Unlike my last post this one is WWII related. The question, where is this and what is it ?

What iit is is the remains of a USAAF base. Where it is is Tinian.

I was thinking something along these lines myself.

Four parallel strips. This must have been a BIG base!!

Adjacent and perpendicular to the coast, it would have on a small island/atoll. It couldn't be on a large island with a mountain range or the strips would be further inland or run parallel to the beach.

Doesn't leave many options.......
