jhdeerslayer -> Matrixgames not reachable from my ISP (2/7/2011 1:52:14 PM)

I posted this in the Gamers for Gamers support section but wanted to add here. Seems a few other people are having the same issue that started about Feb 2nd for me.

"I've had the same problem through my Comcast ISP but at work (different ISP) where I am now it's no problem. I have been working with Comcast and their tech support cannot reach MatrixGames either as well as Wargamer.com which seems to use the same server. Started about Feb 2nd and have had no access since. Can't Ping the IP address for either and get Internet Explorer Cannot Display error. Switching to Mozilla did not help it.

My work laptop accesses at work no problem but at home and Comcast no good. Two other PC's at home have same problem and they are different setups, OS, etc. Something is amiss here. I literally tried dozens of other sites and they open no problem."

Yogi the Great -> RE: Matrixgames not reachable from my ISP (2/7/2011 2:13:34 PM)

I have had some problems, including earlier today. Today I did get in but the wait was long. Right now it worked fine.

Coupon -> RE: Matrixgames not reachable from my ISP (2/7/2011 2:18:19 PM)

Same problem here, can't reach your servers in the daytime hours (CET). This weekend was also a problem. A traceroute revealed the problem to be somewhere in the US.

Jaikel09 -> RE: Matrixgames not reachable from my ISP (2/7/2011 2:20:05 PM)

Hi Deerslayer. I had the same issue with you. Have you solved the problem? Please post it here if you found out the solution. Thanks a lot.

No I am 100% unable to access Matrix (and Wargamer) from my Comcast account. It's almost like for me the Matrix server is blocking Comcast and some other ISP's too from what I hear. Comcast's technical support cannot access either which rules out my set up.

Don't answer the spambot.

U2 -> RE: Matrixgames not reachable from my ISP (2/7/2011 3:59:59 PM)

I am unable to open Matrix and Wargamer using my Iphone. All other tried sites work. You guys should fix this.

"Jaikel09" is a spambot. Look at the links in its sig. Just don't click on them; you never know what kind of Internet crud you'll come away with.

Maybe your ISP is to blame. My broadband and iPhone have both worked fine.

Same for me. It's sporadic.

berto -> RE: Matrixgames not reachable from my ISP (2/7/2011 7:35:31 PM)

I have experienced off-and-on access to The Wargamer for the past month and more. wargamer.com is unreachable for a few days, then reachable, then not again, then ...

It's the same story here from multiple systems running different OSes (variants of Windows, Linux, Mac OS X).

Comcast is my ISP.

I suspect it's a routing misconfiguration somewhere, or maybe an obscure DNS problem. (IPV6 related? And if so, might we expect to see many more of these IPV4-to-IPV6 conversion glitches?)

This affects Wargamer only. During these outages, Matrix is unaffected. (I can always reach Matrix. Also, from work I can always reach Wargamer. It's only from home, with a Comcast connection, that Wargamer is sometimes inaccessible.)

More data points.

For me both are 100% unavailable from home (Comcast) but 100% available at work (AT&T) and with the same PC on both. And only since last week. Before that I never had any problems.

Lützow -> RE: Matrixgames not reachable from my ISP (2/7/2011 7:59:57 PM)

Matrix and Wargamer are both located in Colorado Springs, sharing same webhoster (and server I'd suppose). If you suspect a dns error, try:

64.111.28.20 for Matrix
64.111.28.100 for Wargamer

Other than that the problem should be related to your isp.

Nomad -> RE: Matrixgames not reachable from my ISP (2/7/2011 11:20:42 PM)

I've had on and off problems getting to Matrix and many times it is very slow to navigate.

2ndACR -> RE: Matrixgames not reachable from my ISP (2/7/2011 11:50:00 PM)

Yep, same here for the last 3 days. We are probably overloading the bandwidth. LOL

2ndACR -> RE: Matrixgames not reachable from my ISP (2/8/2011 12:00:12 AM)

Probably.......we have to catch the WITP-AE forum with posts. Damn that Thread.

I checked the number of users this morning when it took a few minutes to get in, and they were only a bit over 2000. I used to get in immediately when users were 7000+. I noticed this delay in the last week for the first time.

2ndACR -> RE: Matrixgames not reachable from my ISP (2/8/2011 1:42:11 AM)

Hey Terminus posts enough to count as 100 user's. It is too much Thread talking. That has got to be it.

I thought of this too and makes no difference and of course Comcast says it's the website especially considering it's the only one of dozens I use that don't work. And they can't access it either. At this point I'm stuck in the middle with no access except at work which is not ideal.

NefariousKoel -> RE: Matrixgames not reachable from my ISP (2/8/2011 8:08:27 PM)

I've experienced some issues with specific nodes on tracert hops in general lately.

It seems the internet is bursting at the seems in some places.   Weak links in the chain.  Often neither user or host's problem, but somewhere in between on those newfangled info superhighways. [;)]

diablo1 -> RE: Matrixgames not reachable from my ISP (2/8/2011 8:11:00 PM)

I think it's the FAA starting to put the squeeze on broadband usage.

The only time the gov't squeezes is to see how much money comes oozing out. [:D][:'(]

Erik Rutins -> RE: Matrixgames not reachable from my ISP (2/8/2011 9:26:38 PM)

It seems this issue was related to some new addresses becoming available that had previously been blocked. It should be resolved. Please let us know if any of you continue to experience this.

Regards,

- Erik

2ndACR -> RE: Matrixgames not reachable from my ISP (2/9/2011 7:05:22 AM)

1 AM Tuesday morning, took 38 seconds to reach the Matrix website and seeing slow page load times. Was almost normal all day until now.

Thanks for your attention to this Erik but sorry to say no change for me. Still 100% locked out. I have the IP address of the Comcast server I am being routed through if that helps.

Erik Rutins -> RE: Matrixgames not reachable from my ISP (2/9/2011 2:53:20 PM)

2ndACR, Deerslayer, could you please e-mail me at erikr@matrixgames.com with your IP addresses?

Regards,

- Erik
