RayWolfe -> To Refit or Not to Refit (2/15/2011 10:50:20 AM)

Can anyone give me their views on the benefits or otherwise of putting units into Refit as opposed to putting them into Supply Buildup?
They seem to have similar benefits but different costs.
Thanks

My understanding is Refit has only to do with replacement priority and not supplies. Supply Buildup is as it says. You have to read to manual carefully on how it works though.

Thanks, but that's the problem ... you have to read the manual ... I have read the manual, and not just once. I love manuals and I have never seen such a comprehensive document but it is completely task oriented, with a very occasional note giving hints. A bit like the Terms & Conditions of a bank account, dry, impenetrable and totally legal! Do this; to do that do something else; press this button to change that.
My problem is that nowhere does it tell you why you should (or should not) do such and such a thing! There are lots of helpful posts here and indeed, without Don Lazov's really wonderful boot camp, I would still be floundering.
Erm ... I have been playing computer war games for 28 years ...
Mini rant over.

I think you have cracked it for me though, thanks Deerslayer

Under what circumstances would you use supply build up?

Its called HQ Buildup!!!

Generally to build up supplies/fuel in panzers etc for the next big lunge forward

it gives them near max movement points

Sympathize with that description of the manual: 300 pages covering detail and features, 72 words describing how to actually do something and the occasional hint that something might actually be useful to do..

Still, it is a masterpiece of usefulness compared to the Editor Manual.

Thanks for the wiki page link.
I think it may be word for word what is in the manual ....
