Rare action... My crippled sub...apparently running on surface gets torped by enemy sub and sunk AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR Feb 15, 43 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sub vs Sub: SS I-172 attacking SS Wahoo at 74,123 - near Darwin Japanese Ships SS I-172 Allied Ships SS Wahoo, Torpedo hits 2, heavy damage SS I-172 launches 4 torpedoes at 2,000 yards Ahhhh!!! So close to getting in port...

It can happen even when the subs aren't damaged.

This happens more often towards the end of the war when both sides subs are funneled into smaller area's. Early war I was shocked to see this happen once in the first couple years, but now in 45 it seems like sub on sub action happens every month or two.

Yes I had non damaged shots which didn't hit, but I think a damaged especially float damage such would stay on surface...don't know if code takes in account damage.

Subs sank enemy subs IRL – although the Allies had a far better record than the Japs. Allied subs sank at least 19 Jap boats. AFAIK Jap subs only sank one Allied boat: USS Corvina (SS-226).

Every month or two? In the Downfall type scenario Ph and I are playing we've had 3 or 4 sub on sub sinkings per day on occasion... To be fair thats because we both flooded the Yellow Sea with subs to support naval operations at times.
