tk208 -> Loosing VP's? (3/6/2011 10:27:15 AM)

Hey guys,

I'm playing a PBEM guadalcanal scen. and iv'e lost guadalcanal and tulagi but have taken PM and milne bay, its the end of november in the game and the vp situation stood at 11,000 to 4800 japan's way.

Over the last few turns i've noticed my vp's are dropping rapidly and i have done nothing other than attempt to re-invade tulagi, can this be the reason or is there something im missing?

Cheers.

Are all of your bases in supply?- if they aren't in supply you don't get the points for them. Especially Port Moresby (high level of victory points in that scenario)

That would be the problem! Thanks for the reply

Is this feature designed to make bypassing bases easier from a vp standpoint I wonder?

I'm suprised I had something useful to contribute- anyway- page 203 of the manual

"Being undersupplied has many ramifications: the base can’t be expanded as rapidly, combat units can’t be supplied as needed and will function below their abilities, and the base will be worth less when victory points are counted."
And page 264
"This full amount of the final VP value is only scored at the end of the game if the base has supplies at least equal to its needed supplies. If supplies are lower than the required amount, the VP’s scored will be less than this maximum, (the lower the supplies the lower the scored VP’s). Bases with 0 supplies would score 25% of the full final points. "

Cheers,

Daniel

A bit surprised here... this is not a new rule, but has been around since at least WITP (maybe before)... players have noticed VPs fluctuating (sometimes wildly) and commented on it before, and the explanation of supply has been invoked in multiple threads...

So, is it memory, perhaps? [;)] (Or perhaps people haven't read the entire forum? [:'(] )
