Minor Bug on Finnish no move line (Full Version)

I am almost sure this is a bug.

At the Finnish no move line, when Soviet units are adjacent to Finnish units so the Finns are right at the limit of where they can move, the Finnish units cannot hasty attack (likely wad) however they can deliberate attack.

I can accept that the way its supposed to work is either

1. Finnish units may neither hasty nor deliberate attack units beyond the no move line

2. Finnish units may attack beyond the no move line

It seems likely that #1 is the intent.. it just makes sense if they cannot move beyond the line they cannot attack beyond. But allowing hasty but not deliberate attacks sounds like a bug. Likely whatever check that prevents the Hasty Attack is not duplicated in the routine for Deliberate Attack.

Gonna need a save of your game to duplicate or tell us the grid it occurs in. I have tried it and the Finns will not attack at all in my game.

What version you running? There was an issue in a earlier version that this occured but was fixed.

It happened in both 1.03 beta 3, beta 6 and the official 1.03.

Unfortunately a save game won't help you as over the blizzard the line moved back. The Finns didn't need to move of course but they fell back as the Germans did so as to keep a shorter line.

As for the grid it occured in it was all along the Finnish No Move line running NS the demarcation for the easternmost Finnish advance. I cannot say exactly what hexes it was allowed in but every hex I tried it would work. I could not hasty attack but I could deliberate attack. I will say all the battles occured along that demarcation line south of Lake Vozhe, and north of the point where the Demarcation turns East-West right north of Rybinsk Reserv

If the Germans captured Leningrad, then the Finns can attack.

Odd, so can't hasty attack over the no-move line, but can deliberate attack. I'm not sure what was intended as to whether attacks over the line are supposed to be ok. It would help to have a save where we could test this, but I'll add it to the bug list.

Joel,

If I get back close to the no attack line soon I will make a save and just massively over-commit to getting some finns close... or heck I could just turn the soviets human and make em back up?!
