Andy Mac -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (6/13/2011 3:06:23 PM)

Made some progress over the weekend will try to make more over the coming weeks in some ways its eaier in others harder but I will get there

Nikademus -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (6/13/2011 3:48:11 PM)

cool.

I should probably do a revision scrub as well now that i have some more time.

[:)]

EDIT: I'll try to keep any to a minimum so as not to mess up the scripts and will send you a change log.

Andy Mac -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (6/13/2011 4:53:02 PM)

The biggest issue I am finding is on the Japanese side as usual and its the usual I set up the AI to duplicate a number of eng bns on key bases because players were sinking so many of them in transit and some of the bases were critical for air transits.

What it means is some of them are in the wrong location which is a pain in the neck because for the 1st month the AI is tying up all its shipping redeploying LCU's from SOPAC to Burma and vice versa

Finding the worst of those is my biggest challenge

Nikademus -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (6/13/2011 5:26:13 PM)

yikes.

Andy Mac -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (6/13/2011 5:53:12 PM)

its just time running an AIvAI game for 4 months to work out which ones are going weird takes a night or two each time

Kitakami -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (6/14/2011 3:36:18 AM)

Greetings,

I downloaded the scenario, and started looking at Japanese ships. As I checked capital ship locations, BB Haruna and CS Chitose were not to be found anywhere. I checked the database and, sure enough, there they are, but when I load the scenario, I can't find them. I wonder if it is my installation or if it is some type of bug in the scenario files?

Cheers!

Nikademus -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (6/14/2011 4:20:30 PM)

thx....i will take a look

This is what I have found so far:

- CS Chitose & CS Mizuho are assigned to TASK FORCE / 722-Singapore. Changing it to BASE fixes the problem.
- BB Haruna & CA Takao are assigned to BASE / 217-<inexistent>. Changing it to BASE / 228-Hiroshima/Kure fixes the problem.
- DD Ikazuchi (219) is assigned to TASK FORCE / 8000 - TFMIN, but the TF does not appear in the TF listing, and the ship does not appear in the ship listing.
- DD Inazuma (220) is assigned to TASK FORCE / 8008 - , but the TF does not appear in the TF listing, and the ship does not appear in the ship listing.
- SC Ch-23 (875) is assigned to TASK FORCE / 8123 - , but the TF does not appear in the TF listing, and the ship does not appear in the ship listing.

Will go through the Allied ships to check if there are other obvious things as soon as I have the time.

Cheers!

The only other ship that I see in such a situation is 3234-Tromp... but I do not know if you have it active or not. I can't find more.

jackyo123 -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (6/18/2011 2:13:19 AM)

is there a download link/location for version 2 with the ai scripts yet? thought i read that andy M had the first set of Japanese scripts ready. am willing to play it out.

Mozo -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (6/19/2011 4:12:14 PM)

I'd also be happy to play as Japan and give some feedback on the scripts...

Sardaukar -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (6/19/2011 6:33:40 PM)

Thanks for effort, Nik & Andy, very much appreciated (plus guys who offerent to hel, of course) :)

comsolut -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (6/22/2011 1:07:55 AM)

Thanks - this will be great with the AI!!! Always has irked me that the original AD ed shipped without a 42 campaign.

Please keep us informed as to when the AI versions is finished.

Again, thanks!

Kitakami -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (6/22/2011 1:41:06 AM)

Another minor thing to note:

AMC Aikoku Maru and AMC Hikoku Maru have been converted into APs... but they still have their FP groups aboard :)

According to Nihon Kaigun CS Mizuho was sunk by SS Drum on May 1 (DC prolonged sinking until May 2).

The game's database has it as May 2nd. Scenario designer's call I guess :) I would be happy either way.

jakla1027 -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (7/6/2011 7:24:45 PM)

So do we have a vs the computer version of this campaign yet. I thought it was said that this was a PBEM only Campaign as of now? So whats the curents status of this MOD/Campaign?

Thanks

Andy Mac -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (7/7/2011 1:58:40 PM)

Its still WIP its taking almost as long as the original AI because I dont have a lot of free time to committ to it.

It will probably not be ready until Late August because I have 2 weeks in the US on holiday and day job is manic until then

drw61 -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (7/7/2011 4:22:22 PM)

Thanks Andy on the update.  We really appreciate the work Nikademus and you are putting into this!

Halsey -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (7/10/2011 2:16:14 AM)

bump...

Andy Mac -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (7/10/2011 3:05:46 PM)

So far

44th 45th and 46th Indian Bdes all destroyed in Malaya/Burma
1st Burma Div - AI cannot rebuild becaause of inactive units

Andy Mac -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (7/10/2011 10:00:35 PM)

Would be easier if 17th Indian started about 30% strength and already pre formed
also I think RM Viper force would have already disbvanded

Got a bare bones jap AI up and running its a bit basic and does nothing other than defend as I have not layered on any further attacks yet and its really lacking in a few areas and is a little preduictable in others

Main issue so far is Truk but I am dealing with it - should probably start as lvl 7 port in this scenario and maybe a bit more supply to help AI

First Repeater!

usersatch -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (7/13/2011 1:25:03 AM)

I noticed a lot of "9999" in the location file, especially Japanese units. Is there a reason why these units were not included in the scenario?

Nikademus -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (7/13/2011 4:51:18 PM)

it depends. It can mean the unit in question was destroyed, or it could mean that that particular unit is not valid for the scenario due to again, various reasons. For example, many parent LCU divisions also have matching organic sub units, each with it's own unique ID. If you want to represent the Division as a whole, the sub units would have ID 9999 because otherwise you'd have duplicates.

aztez -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (7/18/2011 12:42:25 PM)

Hi,

I did send you an PM Nik.

Is this the latest version of this mod?

I'am about to enter PBEM game so want to confirm that before the game starts.

Thank you for your efforts.

RevRick -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (8/11/2011 6:04:40 PM)

It's Bump Time...
How is this mod coming along, Nik????

I, for one, am waiting semi Patiently.......

Nikademus -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (8/11/2011 6:07:19 PM)

Andy is still working on the AI module. Other than that, there are some minor corrections i need to get around too, but the scenario remains playable in PBEM mode.

jakla1027 -> RE: AE Grand Campaign - May 1942 start (9/7/2011 1:51:23 AM)
