Known Issues

Upgrading from 1.00 to versions after 1.05 require the following special upgrade method to be utilized!
Upgrade from 1.00 to 1.06.03
Upgrade to 1.07.02
Now load the latest patch!
Reboot!
NOTE: This is temporary!

Upgrading can cause intermittent font issues. This may look like you are missing text/buttons. To remedy this please REBOOT after loading a patch!

Upgrading an existing game while battle files are in the battles dir can cause unit location problems! Please clean your battles dir (After completing your battles) should solve this!

Wide screen monitors with their DPI set to something other than 96DPI can cause viewing issues making the game unplayable. Please set your CRT DPI to 96.

Pressing a key to skip the Matrix movie from playing may not always work, depending on the machines video card buffer size.

There may be some issues with Microsoft Vista (Screen sizing errors, game not running, etc) and if you do see any difficulties then try the following:
1. Right click on the EiANW.exe file
2. Click properties
3. Click the compatibility tab
4. Check off the compatibility mode and then switch to something other than Vista.

Where is the 1.07.02 update available from?  The Matrix Games website only has the 1.08 and 1.06 updates.

Try this one, I think it still works:

ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/EmpiresInArms/EmpiresinArms-Update-v10702.zip

Otherwise, you can try the following, and scroll down to the Dec 9th post from Andrew Loveridge.

So to summarise, people who have been having problems (such as weird battle errors, display bugs, and leaders jumping ownership) should attempt to resolve those with a clean install.

Here is the process:

* Move all of your extra files, everything in commin, Save, etc, plus all of the scenario files to a safe place. Also remember to keep a copy of your serialreg.txt file because that has your serial number in it. Best to just make a complete backup copy of your install.

* In a new directory re-install the game from CD.

* Then upgrade that to 1.06.03 which is here:

ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/EmpiresInArms/EmpiresinArms-UpdateCompDR-v10603.zip

* Then upgrade that to 1.07.02, which is here:

ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/EmpiresInArms/EmpiresinArms-Update-v10702.zip

* Then upgrade that to 1.08.04, which is here:

ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/EmpiresinArms/EmpiresinArms-Update-v10804.zip

* Lastly upgrade that to the 1.08.05 beta which you will need to be a registered member to get, but it's here:

http://www.matrixgames.com/members/privateDL.asp?gid=285

* Only when that's done, re-install the extra scenarios, such as the 1740, Classic and 1792 scenarios made by Yearworld. Also copy back your commin and Save files.

I've heard that 1.08.05 will not be released as an official patch. Can we have an official Marshall/Matrix comment on this please ?

There is a lot of interest in this patch from the PBEM games I am in, but an understandable reluctance to apply a beta patch.

If this is going to become a full patch, what's the time scale ?
If not, why not ? And what is the roadmap and timescale for the way forwards from here ?

Sadly we're not, we're paid customers not paying. Often a major point where software development is concerned.

Perhaps, yes. But paid customers unhappy means less paying customers as word gets out.

bongina -> RE: New 1.08.05 Public Beta Available! (4/25/2011 9:26:41 PM)

1.8.05 Beta still has major issues. We have to wait for 1.8.06
