Hi,
i'm willing to create a scenario covering an accurate simulation of the spanish civil war.
What i still need is a detailed info about "all" the military operations, units, equipment and so on.
I've only found some partial info about air/naval units and republicans militia organization and weapon like POUM or "Batallon Paris".

Does anyone know a good website/book or whatever for this?

Thanks [;)]

Hi Murphz

Check these links. Are in Spanish. Hope that they´re useful to you:

A good scenario that covers the last period of the Spanish civil war is Agonia y Victoria. Sure that you found it interesting

Yes, exactly what i was searching for...with the resource i've found i'm ok for all now, otherwise i'll ask directly to the forums you gave me.

I'll try the scenario too, but is just the final year of war. I'm looking to simulate the entire civil war.

Thanks a lot fulcrum90 [&o] you saved me a lot of time [;)]

I wrote AyV back in the day, my experience is that there's not a single source you can turn to, much less in Spanish. A good starting point for the OOB is orbat.com that has the peacetime OOB of the Spanish Army, but there's zilch on the net on the militias and the security forces.

Also, shortly after the war kicked off, the Republicans disbanded the regular army for practical purposes. If you are willing to have patience, you can trawl through the threads here http://www.elgrancapitan.org/foro/ although in Spanish, of course. On the book front there are 2 collections in Spanish, the official history (nationalists vs reds...) and the History of the people's army, both are pricey, rare and in Spanish... [>:]

From the start I intended to do a 1st part called Alzamiento y Revolución, I did some preliminary work, but then my children were born and it's on hold for another 18 years at least...

Murphz,

A good idea is to get through several wargaming, incl. tabletop or tactical wargaming sites,as well as various history forums to get an idea about the OOB and/or TO&E, e.g. Steel Panthers, JT Campaign Series, etc.

http://www.fireandfury.com/extra/ordersofbattle.shtml#SCW
http://www.cgsc.edu/carl/nafziger/index.asp *the WHOLE Nafziger collection in public domain!*

What will the scale of the scenario be? There are, if I recall, already two SCV scwenarios. Did you contact the original designers mate?

Up front, you can use AyV as a base for an scenario, if you need the map, OOB or whatever, use it.
