gunnergoz -> Trains? (4/16/2011 7:59:56 AM)

I don't get how to use the trains in a counter. If I set up a unit with trains and say, tanks, the tanks are now rail-bound, correct? Am I supposed to use this to move units forward and then transfer them to another (ground) unit upon arrival? Or am I supposed to leave the trains in the HQ's as a pool for strategic movement?
Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions.

The way i understand it they are used for transfering from an HQ

Maybe one cpould also use them for speedy railbound troops? dunno

Yes the latter, keep your trains in your HQ's.

Thanks guys, that's logical and we'll stick to that unless there's a good reason to set up armored trains...no there's an idea.

Trains are best used in your HQs, as you indicated for strategic transfer, but also sometimes for directly transferring reinforcements/additional supply into other HQs and even new units. Secondarily, trains are a good way to mobilize artillery, especially heavy artillery.

It is important to know that trains can be used like trucks as they were historically, to ferry units around, when one does not have enough landcap to get units far away. Then they can be brought back to a HQ to increase the landcap.
