DakaSha -> Armored Cars vs L.Tanks (4/16/2011 10:40:19 PM) After looking at the stats it seems armored cars are the better buy. Am I wrong? At first glance it looks like tanks should be a bit tougher. I suppose tanks could be seen as armored car destroyers with the added benefit of being good against Inf I dont fully get the mechanics yet so im just wondering. Also armored cars are listed as tracked.. is that intentional?

People used to complain about armored car hordes in the early stages of random AI games, in the original Advanced Tactics. For anything resembling a decent offensive: light tanks are far better, both for survivability and for fuel consumption. Also, light tanks are much more likely to survive hordes of infantry, whereas armored cars can be overwhelmed by lots of ordinary Rifles. Those 1000 more hit points at level 1, with many more hit points at higher levels, make a big difference. Being tracked is probably intentional, but only Vic can say for sure.
